He was off my a little bit when he first used the edge checker. He was off on one side and the other side was good.He then said he was going to fix it.He did.How did he fix it???What did he do to the machine????
He didn't adjust the machine, but at 0:51 her turned the adjustment knob on the skate holder counter clockwise to raise the front of the blade by ~0.0002".

All these videos on how to sharpen skates and none of them look down the blade to see the cross grind lines that disapear as you sharpen the skates down. you can take off minimal blade by just keeping an eye on your stone pass at the very begining of your sharpen until you know you have your stone true on the blade(level up and down, heal to toe) and then finish your passes until you have a clean, completly passed over skate blade. is this not a common technique?
Extra passes doesn't take off much steel, he is trying to get square edges.
I would not mind a few passes extra to get a square edge because many shop don't even know what a edge checker is.
Gust glide produces a nice polish, but fills the stone with black oil, so I use it only for the more elite players.
A Optic eye could be installed on Holders, problem is when you dress the stone to sharpen, you may not have the centre of your dressed stone on the exact centre of the stone. TriLie = best
Try the FBV now, it makes a big difference, I play AA in Mississauga Ontario and i noticed a huge change from 9/16 to 100/75 FBV, and now they have electronic digital levelers built into the holders, we just got one for 500$ lmfao

Ok I don't hokey skate, but I figure skate. Those blades look like they are getting REALLY sharp. Are they for a pro. skater? If not, THAT IS WAY TOO SHARP!!!!!
this guy's doing it right. It's the way that you round out the tips is what matters. In hockey skating, your tips (especially the front) need to be sharp in order to push off.
Your sharpener was probably not giving the proper angle that the tips need, causing the tips to flatten out...Good job sharpener!
Are you suppose to sharpen the skates like that? Because I had to change the runners on my skates because they were too rounded at the tips of the runners so there wasn't enough blade. The people i brought my skates to, to change the runners told me I had to change them because wherever i got my skates sharpened, they sharpened the tips all the time causing them too become too small and thus me having to change them.

Can you name the company that makes a Skate Holder with this leveler or height gauge built in ? Like to see that ?
I've yet to try anything better than the Tri-Lie holder.

Remember its always grinding the same hollow, or U shape into the blade right?
so he wont get them any sharper by taking more passes, hes just a moron for taking off too much steel
