@Dreckerplayer It all started with Kinnikuman,the first "never ending" shonen.The second one was Dragon ball animeted by Toei Animation.And the third is One Piece also by Toei.Naruto and Bleach was animetad aaaaaages later.The point of this comment is,that Kinnikuman was the inspirator of naruto,not one move is copied from there,Kishimoto is a great fan of Kinnikuman! Dbz also got inspiration by Kinnikuman for example the revives of the lost friends.

@L2DaK2Dap Although I really do agree that I wanted Gohan or Gotenks to be the hero in that arc, we should at least acknowledge that Gohan didn't go down like no punk. He was actually in a state higher than SSJ2 (in a previous episode he even tried to power up to the transformation). Buu beat him by fusing with Gotenks, and we know that that combination made him the most powerful being in the universe at the time until Goku and Vegeta fused together.
