Dude Its an OLP. The Chineese Manufacture for Music man Ive seen these things around and could have bought one for $200.00 used. It didn't seem to be of bad quality and the finsh is all the same birds eye maple. Just thought you wanted to know.
@chubberods OLP's dont have birdseye maple necks... Unless you mean the quilted maple top, and yes thats a photograph picture covered by a polyurethane laquer.
this guitar is a sterling by Musicman! (I own it too). this one has been modified with a new pickup selector switch, and a new volume control pot that has a built in pickup split to single coil switch. Simple....
Steve Vai should be playing these for the love of GOD !!
Steve Vai performs "I Know You're Here" at The Fillmore Auditorium, Denver, CO. on October 20, 2003. Playing alongside Steve are The Breed: Billy Sheehan on bass; Tony MacAlpine on guitar and keyboards; Jeremy Colson on drums; and Dave Weiner on 7-string guitar.
From the DVD "G3 - Live In Denver" featuring Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen.
It's a shame these guitars are so expensive. You just pay for the name, that sucks! Music in general belongs to everybody. It's a shame they economize it like that.
No probs friend. Honestly though I am 16 and recently bought my own Les paul Axcess Alex Lifeson and am about about to get a Fender custom shop. This is all with the money I earned with my job. Wasn't that hard either. I have tons of friends there and enjoyed the time I spent earning the cash.
You on the other hand sit and mope about how you can't afford a guitar that truly isn't that expensive. Guitar makers are businesses. If you don't get it, then it's time to grow up.
@Carthsgtr Look, kid, I don't care about your fucking part-time employment or what you think about anything. Other people have to make a living and can't spent a couple of thousand dollars on a guitar. And one more thing: I don't fucking "sit and mope". You have no idea who I am so quit fucking with me, you idiot.
@Carthsgtr I got one more for you. Your playing sucks! So why don't you spend less time posting stupid comments and practicing on your very expensive guitars! You know, I really like people like you... expensive guitar and no skills. Oh, and another thing: I'm not your friend.
Correction, the Music Man EVH is a signature EVH model (signature is on headstock). Virtually the same guitar as the Axis, with the exception of the pickup selector in different places.
He started using the Wolfgang in 1995 during the Balance tour & played it up until 2004 when his deal with Peavey was axed when he smashed 2 Wolfs on stage.
He still plays the Art Series occasionally, notably on the last tour during the song I'll Wait.
I'm aware he used a Destroyer.....in addition to a GIbson Les Paul, the Frankenstein, the Bumblebee, the Kramers & countless other guitars used during 1978-1984.
You think he got his tone from the Destroyer?
Ed is the one that regrets hacking the middle piece of wood off because he admitted that altering it made it sound like a piece of shit single coil strat.
Without his '67 Marshall Plexi Super Lead & a voltage variac, Ed would not have achieved the Brown Sound.
I own a pre - serial / pre - Lawsuit Korina Destroyer! Yes, thats were he got the core of 'The Brown Sound' In fact it's real easy to hear yourself. Anytime you don't hear a dive bomb or extreme vibrato in the first three records, then he's playing the Destroyer! That has been confirmed by many people.
He did ruin the tone when he cut into it. So the Destroyer he used on W.&.C.F recored belonged to Chris Holmes of WASP. Ed couldn't get one because of the lawsuit with Gibson... Anything else?
Wow... Ask anyone! The only time he used a Les Paul was at the end live shows because his main "Frankenstein" was usually un-playable due to all the vibrato. This was before hr had the 'Floyd Rose' installed. He never, to the best of my knowledge used a LP with one pup... Can you provide proof?
Now unless you can provide proof, I'm done with you. I've proven all your silly 'theories' wrong and you continue to pull shit out of left field. I've got better things to do then to argue with you!
Mr. Internet Know It All: Run a search on Google images for 'Eddie Van Halen Les Paul" and you'll find it on the first page... EVH with a one-pickup LP.
How's that? I guess that makes you look pretty stupid, as if that wasn't already accomplished by the way you tried the bullshit and backpedal through all those prior posts. I'm sure you're out there playing expert on all kinds of things 6 months later. Maybe next time just keep quiet.
B)On the first page there are two pictures with the SAME Les Paul with the neck pup installed. In the picture you're talking about you can clearly see the lead cable in the rout. If you're removing the pickup permanently then you DON'T LEAVE THAT ATTACHED. He was on the road - he probably blew the pup and his tech didn't have time to replace it before the show... It's called common sense- Look into it!
I'm not playing this game with you. You gave the other guy a rash of shit claiming he never played an LP with one pickup, and were shown to be decisively wrong. Now you want to make up things like "he probably blew his pickup just before the show, so..." and try to save face. It won't work. THE END.
@electrobc01 Actually I said " He never, TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE, used a LP with one pup..." To that end I stand corrected! He, on 1 occasion at least, used a LP with one pup. However could you explain 1 thing to me? If he used that LP on a "regular" basis - why would he leave the lead wire? Does the phrase "Lit up like a Christmas tree" mean anything to you? And, we're back to that common sense thing.
The other guy was an argumentative ass and clearly you are as well... We're done!
And the best part is if you keep looking, you'll find photos from other shows where there's no neck PU in the LP. So I guess that kills your theory too -
Looking for EVH's Peavey model has lead me to discover the Peavey HP Special CT and they are going for $1500 at one store and I'm grabbing it because it sounds fricking awesome. Usually the Guitar World demos on here don't tweak around much and help you hear what they sound like out of the box and have the same guy on each guitar so you can get an idea and that Peavey is a stand out.
The Axis also has the Pickup selector moved, the neck feels slightly different and the Mojo really just isnt the same. I think the EVH has a different vibe than the Axis. I have owned 4 EVH EBMM's, 2 wolfgangs. They are all different guitars.
Its a music man axis. Its made very similar to the wolfgang except that the toggle switch is located in a different spot and it is wired in the standard way, not reverse like the wolfgangs
if there was a better shot i can signs of the headstock being tampered with little bit of discolorization, but i dont know with the video quality you never know
Not quite, the Wolfgang is the new model made by Peavey. Music man had to rename the EVH after the end of the endorsement deal with Eddie. Btw the new axxis features a few design improvements that the Eddie van Halen signature model didn't have, like a countour shaping on the back.

Jezz, people!
Eddie Van Halen endorsed guitars!
Kramer: 1983- around 88'-89'
He only endorsed the company. He had no signature guitar. But people say the Pacer is as close as you can get!
Ernie Ball/ Music Man: 1990 - 1995!
Peavey Wolfgang: 1996 - 2003!
Charvel EVH Art Series 2004 - 2007!
Fender/EVH Wolfgang: 2009-

Did you even READ my comment? The only one that wasn't a signature was the Kramer... Thats why I wrote the description!
I don't care when the hell he stopped playing them, All I know is Peavey stopped making them in November of 03', even in the custom shop.
Charvel officially discontinued the the 'EVH Art Series' in 07!!!
redrocker1055 2 years ago
Wrong, you clearly said "He had no signature guitar."
Also, he used Kramer until 1991, where he recorded the song Judgment Day on the album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.
Wrong again, the last Peavey Wolfgang rolled off the assembly line in mid-2004, with Ed's deal with Peavey coming to an end in November 2004.
PatVanHalen5150 2 years ago
Are you really this dense???
I said- "He only endorsed the company. He had no signature guitar. But people say the Pacer is as close as you can get!"
Does EB/MM, Peavey or Charvel make a 'Pacer' model???
Again, His ENDORSEMENT with Kramer ended around 88' - 89'. He used the Kramer on a song for the FUCK. Album, but he was being endorsed by EB/MM.
You're one of those guys who has a 'Franky' copies, believing that's where he got his tone... Aren't ya'?
Lookup the Ibanez Destroyer!!!
