Liver Transplant Update

It's so sad for those who are at the end stage. I'm sad about this. However, there is hope for others. Hopefully science can make a way for this. God bless!

I'm 39 with end stage liver disease but don't fit the criteria to be on the transplant list. I've been in a treatment facility for 9 months. I don't know how long I have left. I've been trying to utilize every moment I have to help others. My biggest regret is not growing old watching the children in my family grow up.

I received my liver transplant Oct. 1, 2008 and am doing great. I had an A2 rejection exactly two weeks post transplant to which was addressed and taken care of very quickly with steroid treatment and only 5 days in the hospital. My donor was a 56 year old male. I too thank my new hero and his family from the bottom of my heart for my second chance at life. I was able to help celebrate my little girls 6th b-day. And am about to celebrate my 31st b-day. Life is the greatest gift......

I'm so pleased to hear that your transplant went well. It's amazing that you only spent 5 days in hospital, it took me 3 weeks to be able to leave after my transplant. Fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your girls 6th birthday & your own recent b-day too.

I agree with you 100%. Life really is the greatest gift.

I had a liver transplant 4 months ago and am doing very well.

I want to thank my wonderful doner for giving me his/her liver and in doing so giving me a second chance. I'm so sorry you died, i'd give anything for you to be still here today i'm truely grateful for the gift you have given me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
