DCAU Hawkgirl is a villain, pure and simple. Not only was her entire career up until this point a lie, she handed the JL and the planet over to an invading armada, and was perfectly fine with everything up to *slavery*. Being against species-cide isn't heroic, it's basic decency. There's a dozen DC villains with higher morals than her.

And what "great sacrifices" was Alfred talking about? Breaking up with her old boyfriend? That's all I saw her give up.

Hawkgirl made some bad decisions but she is no villain, because a villain is primarily definded by selfish desires and a disregard for the well being of others who have to pay the price for those desires. Hawkgirl came to Earth as an loyal undercover agent to serve and protect her people. Nothing she ever did as Hawkgirl was selfish in nature. And the great sacrifice Alfred was talking about was becoming a pariah to her own people. She gave it all up in order to save Earth!

Awesome episode. However, I think it lost the consistency of who each character is. I think more should have been done with Green Lantern. His ring is all powerful throughout the universe, along with batman his ring should have told him these were bad people. Taking his ring how, the ring seeks out the individual. And at the end While the Commander is a soldier, Lantern is a Marine. with the most powerful wepon in the universe, plus the hawk had taken his woman, and now his world.
