@almondy1963 Well just being honest, when famous singer Ricky Nelson died his wife & kids heard it on the radio as if they were just normal fans, sometimes you just find out later than others. im not sure how Shirley heard it first but she told Lester ''Roger has been shot!'' Lester said ''WHAT??'' thats from a first hand interview with the Troutmans last year. im on to sure how she got the news first but she was with the band for over a decade and was there the week Roger was Killed. so sad.

I was a fan of Zapp since my sister who used to live in America brought the record back to london with her and we couldn't stop listening. A very sad loss. God bless the troutman family. Today would have been rogers birthday and may he continue to rest in God's perfect peace.

Unfortunaltely this is a group whose records don't do them justice. I wasn't a fan of Zapp and Roger until I saw them perform in DC about 1986. Man what an event, these guys were show stoppers , I mean Roger had an album called worlds greatest entertainer after seeing this group live then I knew this guy and the group took no prisoners. RIP Roger. I saw Zapp maybe 6 times in total the last time without Roger it just wasn't the Same.

I remember getting the news that day and just seeing the words "ROGER TROUTMAN SHOT DEAD" shocked me, it shocked me even more when I realized his own brother had done it. Just sad. :(

Wow very good! The picture of the Troutman Sound Labs sign really took me back. It's true, 10 years and still unbelievable. I am a native Daytonian and was around Roger and ALL of Zapp growing up as a child. My mother, Marchelle "Shelley" Smith sang with them for many years. My earliest memories are of being in the studio and watching Roger create. I remember his passion and extreme talents. I remember him blasting the music so loud you couldn't think and the donald duck voice! Luv you! Darnell

i knew roger troutman and larry troutman personally. i know the remaining three brothers,the family,band members,and associated acts very well. it has been hard on the family,friends,and the group. it's been ten years but it seems like yesterday when i heard the shocking news. the brothers,friends,and the band are hanging in there. as a former employee and friend of the family i'll say that we did have fun and lots of memories to reflect on. PRAY FOR US!!
