@Jedmac90 Yup, these old turntables were not meant to be speed acurate. If they were not belt driven, they were driven by an AC motor and a rubber wheel which in time would wear off and some of the rubber would migrate and stick to the motor axis and make the platter spin faster and inacurately. They had a ceramic piezo cartridge and very very damaging styluses... I would never let one of my Beatles records get near any of these vinyl eating mosters :)
Great stuff. I own the 45 single of this. It's posted on my channel. I see your turntable spins a bit too fast. It's not bad though. My grandma's turntable spins too slow and it sounds awful..
Its nice getting comments that aren't complaints about my turntable's speed for a change. I'd rather have one run too fast as well. For some reason though every one that I've had runs at least a little fast lol.
Yeah definitely. I played this on my grandma's turntable (she gave it to me so I can listen to it anytime) and this video sounds much better since it doesn't "drag." Also, I have a Zenith that that runs a bit fast as well. =) Nice stereo console though. What kind is it? Mine's a 1968 Packard Bell.
Oh also, you are so lucky to own a copy of this. Especially since it's on blue vinyl. That's cool. The only Beatles LP I own is the reissue of Abbey Road. I have the Hey Jude/Revolution 45 single though.

The drums sound the best at 0:50 - 0:55!!!!, this song is my favourite by the beatles, and the instrument solo's are one of my favourite!

it sounds kinda high pitched.
SirStupid1996 2 years ago 2
thats because it plays fast which raises the pitch in the process
Jedmac90 2 years ago
Can't it be slowed down? It ruines the song, imo. It sounds like "When I'm 64".

Nope, that's just how it is

You need to get a new turntable.

Fair enough. I can't even afford the records, let alone the turntable.
Looking forward to starting my collection though.

In my opinion, this is the best song ever by The Beatles!

There are so many great songs to choose from but I think you are right, its such a beautiful song.
This and Revolution made for one of the greatest A and B side single combinations ever.
