The word 'stoic' describes someone who can endure pain without showing their feelings. That said, Alanis rules. This is such a beautiful song.

However, having seen her live her pronunciation when i saw her was definitely 'stoic'... that said... maybe it was intentional to change it from the CD? Whatever it is, this song is haunting and is one of the few songs i can't listen to without a tear... thanks for your reply

"Stoic" works, but "stuck" is the correct lyric. This according to the CD liner notes! :o)
