  • Goodness gracious!... What's with the one hundred mile-an-hour tempo? Were they in a hurry to get back at the hotel!?!?... unreal musicianship!

  • Everytime I listen to this, I shit a brick. Like holy fuck, Chester Thompson. You are too often an overlooked Zappa Drummer. Bozzio and Colaiuta always seem to get so much more love.

  • Ladies and gentleman, watch Ruth. All through this tour, Ruth has been thinking, " It sure is amazing, being a part of this band - I hope that future generations don't fall down and hurt themselves before they can ponder the significance of it ( in pedal-depressed , pan-chromatic resonance of course ). Arf.

  • From the sublime to the ridiculous ..ly good..

  • IMO the best formation Zappa ever had. Their skills and charisma were over the rest. Love them all.

  • Faster tempo, and different rhythmic accenting but there's something there in the phrasing around 1:00 that sounds like a variation on a small part of the beginning of Big Swifty.

  • Zappa fan since 1973 here. Thought I had every bootleg. Glad I lived long enough to enjoy youtube.

  • @ukkfayooyay me too!

  • What can we say ?

    Picasso, Stravinsky, Zappa.

Even this has already been said..

oh well What a Frikkin band...

  • one of my favorite drum solo's i've ever heard..

  • On Ruth! On Ruth!

    derpty derp derp

    HA HA

    That's Ruth.

  • made me the ponderous one I was introduced to zappa by madlewie in birkenhead when I was about 11 or 12, Him, Beefheart(van vliet) and the Grandmothers, does anyone acuallt recall a song or did it just appear in my head as a jumble of all the structured cacophonies that we used to trip out to? I don't know, but I can remember everysingle 1 of zappa's lyrics If I had been as interested in school as zappa I'd have remembered all the nonsense. Zappa said to Paul Mc. EVERYTHING IS PRODUCT! correct!

  • Zappa is one of the few who understood the meaning of the expresion "artistic message of the shit". Or in other words: "from bumps and mold and mud he did/new beauty and cosmic music, indeed!

  • wow

  • the toilet humour trash got me into him as an adolescent boy and i followed on (in time) to be amazed by a whole new universe of orchestral and instrumental music. i still love the toilet humourr though :)

  • reety alwrighty this is delicious. thank you zappa for making music what it truly should be - a delight to listen to! or sometyhing., i dunno. drunk. eitherway, zappa is what i listen to, and it keeps the trouble every day at bay!

  • Thanks for posting. One of my all time favorite Zappa compositions, and that is saying a lot! He was in such a differen musical universe, I think the majority cant quite comprehend or appreciate. Wish he was not just thought of for the toilet/sex humor trash, he has claimed he did those songs ( to appeal to adolescent boys) to fund his serious compositions. Which this one is a prime example of!

    RIP, Frank.

  • I was listening to this while doing my business accounts in Quickbooks and when I clicked "pay all bills" it went "buh-DIP...buh-DIP...buh-DIP" for a while and the awesome thing is it totally did not sound out of place in this completely awesome Zappa jam.

  • There is just NOTHING else like this in the musical universe. NOTHING!

  • I tend to agree.

  • @NameNotaNumber how right you are

  • this is just awesome.

  • Ridiculous... This is so great!
