I think the smaller size costs 500 dollars, and the largest I think costs 1400 dollars... so it's a big gift, but it's worth it I think...

i waswondering where you get the diferent sounds for the monome, do you need special software?

The monome has no built in sounds. It has no intelligence. It works with your computer as a sort of blank slate interface, you designate wholly what it does and is capable of doing.

do you need to use it with a computer? i suppose it will accept any midi information... so i could use it with other hardware stuff... right?
