I danced on this song every night of my 1976 holidays in Madeira's Discotheque in Benidorm (Spain), being only 22 years old. Brings back great memories!
This is by far one of my favortie songs by Donna. I mean hot, sensual, just the best of songs ever. She delivers and so does the band and the singers. Just too much for this older man to handle. Talk about bringing back the disco days of my young adult years. This is the ultimate.
SE VALE LLORAR !!! CRYING IS PERMITTED !!! Cry if you feel like it......Bye, I know, we can make it,,,I know...we can try.........I know we can make it...I KNOW we CAN CRY ! George
TRY ME is all what we feel today. TRY ME is all we remember from the past to make it present. TRY ME is a feeling of a generation and we will never forget DONNA SUMMER making our nights awesome.
Again, like I've commented before, the right musical hook, from the right team of Summer/Moroder/Belotte. Several tracks from this album were featured in the film, "Looking For Mr. Goodbar", which certainly didn't hurt this from going to gold status.
@MtB4aS This was from "Trilogy Of Love". "Four Seasons Of Love" was right after this, then "Once Upon A Time". Donna was so busy recording in those days, that the albums must have merged together for her, recording wise.
esta genial esto...de plano , solo los que vivieron esta epoca, saben lo que significaba.....doy gracias por haber vivido mi juventud en los 70 y los 80´s.....so cool!!!!

Thank for the Neil Bogart tribute. He was an entertainer in his own way. I don't care what's been said. Everyone that worked with him from Donna to KISS to Cher to others have always had praise for this great pop genius. Thanks, Neil for creating the "Casbah"......
The REAL endless summer, LaDonna (Gaines), Bostonion, Germany temp native in "Hair" revival...oh how I miss those classical pulsating, heavy breathing days of DISCO DONNA & CO. good thing got the vinyl, CD, plastic, and YOUTUBE! LIVE AND MORE, ENDLESS LOVE LIVE DONNA!
I remember back in 1976 my father heard this song on the radio, and ask me did I like that song I said yes. He gave me money and said go out and buy this album. This the only pop song he ever liked, he would play this long version all the time..... R.I.P. old man. VAL
Reminds me so the first time I saw Ms Summer in person @The Chateau De Ville in Framingham, MA in '77, she was flawless & certainly above reproach, her vocal range was truly amazing!! Like an angel sent from the heavens to entertain the masses, without any doubt. Even today in her 50's she's not lost her vocal range, if anything it has improved! Can't say that about other singer's who are currently out there, or are in the shadows resting their instrument, after abusing it~quite a shame too!
@doula1956 I saw her in Foxwood Casinos in CT after 30 years waiting for that moment , and her voice was the same. That was my dream to see her in concert. Im from Colombia and I never thought I could see her.
listen to this with the lights dimmed and in your mind you will be transferred back to a nightclub back in 1976, who said time travel is impossible. Problem is the song will end after 18 minutes and you will be back in this sorry decade
@bobo007xx :"they" IS the correct term, Check the record labels, Donna Summer, Pete Belotte, and Giorgio Moroder. Donna Summer was the lyricist. Sorry.
Donna and Giorgio were way ahead of their time, they had their finger on the musical pulse of this nation at the time. They were the forerunners in inventing Trance, with "I Feel Love"...............way, way ahead of their time. Neil Bogart ran Casablanca into the ground, just ask Donna. Neil Bogart literally killed himself with cocaine abuse.
@TheBeau1957 "they" sorry, but donna sang.Georgio composed arranged (sometimes with others) and played on HIS songs.he and others were the forerunner of trance.
I agree with you Anthony, I bought this album in 1978 only because I liked Donna's version of "Could It Be Magic" but once I heard the revise side and pplayed "Try Me, I Know We Can Make It. I fell in love ever since. I have this LP in CD andI enjoy it very much.
thanks for uploading a true voice of a goddess i listened to her songs for hours and now at 52 will begin to again moroder you are the bebussy of disco
The former Miss Donna Baines of Boston, Massachussettes. Moved to Munich, Germany at the age of eighteen and the rest, as they say, is history. MAJOR props to Giorgio Moroder for bringing the European disco sound to the United States! Trivia note: Donna's first few LPs were on Oasis Records, a label under Casablanca.
Once more Donna Summer comes to those that come online on Youtube. For awhile, I thought that Vinyl had it going on with their version of the song. But this version over eighteen minutes overrules. Disco music brought many changes to the late 70s & early 80s. Donna Summer tops as the Queen of the Disco Era. She reigns in all Discotheques, the gays were her number one fans. Donnas' muscic covered all types of populations from the gays, to the straights, rock-n-rollers, country listeners, everyone
Toutes les divinités célestes se sont unies pour l'inspirer. J'ai dansé cette chanson pour la première fois en 1976 alors que j'avais 17ans. Et elle a encore sa qualité et reste au top!
@afiggiani1558 Anthony, I agree 100%. From the first time I heard this album in 1976, it stirred up the blossoming princess within me! Sincerely, Anthony from Brooklyn, NY.
...there just aren't words to express what you did with this mix. Thank you for the extra cut at 15:30. (I know, I know, I know, I know I know, we can make it....) too much for the senses. 'and such clarity! As I stated elsewhere, the era was indeed the best years of my life. I bookmarked, as this will be played consistently. I have my pc connected to my stereo and my neighbors are all requesting to play it louder, and again and again. Wow. Very much appreciated. Peace.
