Perhaps if Steven would have hit the brakes when he was next to the semi and went back up the hill, he would have out accelerated the truck in the first place and the Mack could not make a 180 on such a tight mountain road.
there is someone chasing and hitting your car in the back.....so why tha hell on ,every damn movie, they don't break, let the chaser pass....???? but noooo, they continue to drive and wreck the car in the end!
Back when Steven Seagal still had some dignity. Now the man is almost 60 and still doing these horrible action straight to dvd flicks and they all are named something with justice in them.
I love that Mack DM 800!!! It's too bad that it gets smashed to crap at the end, though. I like the scene, but the Mack doesn't have that classic Bulldog growl. The truck sounds more like a car to me.
@heiltruckfan it dosent have that beuatiful growl because the pill popping fashion plates in hollywood seem to like swapping out good motor sounds for a 12v 71! i mean everyone loves a screamin jimmy but nothing can beat the growl of an old mack truck!
@Diodorus79 Yeah...sounds like a 12v71N to me...especially later in the chase! I think a lot of times they use separate trucks for the audio & the visual. In the movie Black Dog (Patrick Swayze) he says something along the lines of "aint nothin pulls like a caterpillar engine" but the audio is obviously from a 12v71, at least for most of the movie. But hey...nothing sounds better than a jimmy!
Reference to Duel!!! read it up. But over all in a way this movie is a little bit like Red Harvest which is what "yojimbo" and "A fistful of Dollars" was based on. Segal is kinda like the Continental Op and The Man WIth No Name. Oh and the ROnin Samuri from Yojimbo!!!!
This scene had by far some of the worst editing I have ever seen in a movie. Truck has driver pushing brake pedal to the floor and then showing the truck accelerating. Truck is shown like 3 times ramming the rear of the pickup and every time if you pause the rear end of the truck is brand new untouched. Headlights are shown broken and unbroken in multiple takes and the super fake looking scenes with the cliff that is clearly a movie screen truck coming at Segall and he is in a movie studio.
I love how the mack has a broken headlight, fixed headlights, head lights on, headlights off, broken left headlight again..... oh and its interesting to see the macks engine get totally separated lol

Hurts to see these classic vehicles being destroyed but the shots as they went down the cliff were surprisingly well filmed.
CycolacFan 1 year ago
@CycolacFan Idk. It's impressive, but i'd be more impressed if they did it in one take like the one from Spielberg's Duel.
