I met Lauren today in Chicago and spent four hours on the sidelines with her. She is simply an amazing young woman. So down to earth and real- a total class act and I think she'll have a great future. Such a sweet person. I wish her lots of luck!!! She certainly seems as if she deserves it. Anyone notice how the skipped right to the second verse of "There She Is" so you wouldn't hear the line "the dreams of a million girls who are more than pretty will come true in ATLANTIC CITY"?

Leanza Cornett, Carolyn Sapp, Jennifer Berry, Heather French, Angela Barraquio, none of these women were blonde; they were brunettes; so no, all Miss Americas aren't blonde.
In the evening gown competition, it was clear who had the most illuminating presence...Miss Oklahoma. She will be a great role model in the aftermath of these beauty queen controversies. Congrats to Oklahoma for two in a row...Lauren's a Centennial beauty!!!

Yes a lot of people confuse the two. Miss USA airs around March/April and is judged in swimsuit/gown/interview. Miss USA represents the USA at the Miss Universe Pageant in late spring. Miss America has swimsuit/gown/talent/ and interview. Miss America doesn't go to an international pageant. I think both pageants are great in their own way.

We go to Centenary Methodist in Lawton. I'm in the Connect (contemporary worship service)band - which plays on Sunday evenings. We saw Lauren's parents at church right before they went to Las Vegas. She is SOOOOOOO nice.
Yay! I couldn't quit cheering and crying when she won! I was so proud of my friend!! I was in the music department with her here at UCO and I had many classes and crewed a show with her. She's an amazing person and such a sweet girl! She totally deserved it!
Lauren was a pleasure to work with in high school. This girl has more raw talent than I have ever seen in any one human being. She has a GIFT and could be the next biggest star easily. She captivated the crowd and the judges from the beginning of that night. I am proud to say I know her! Lauren Nelson is one Miss America who will completely soar!
I agree completely. She has a huge gift. After hearing her sing, I wondered why she didn't go up for American Idol....She has too much class perhaps. She has a very strong voice with incredible pitch and control and beautiful tone.

I agree completely. She has a huge gift. After hearing her sing, I wondered why she didn't go up for American Idol....She has too much class perhaps. She has a very strong voice with incredible pitch and control and beautiful tone.

first i wanted miss connecticut to win cause thats were i live
then i wanted miss new hampshuire to win because she was the prettiest
but i think texas did better then her...nothing agaist oklahoma or enything

Why is it impossible to find a clip of the swimsuit competition? Ever since Miss America went on cable Tv, I could not see the show!
