  • @johnnyrckt

You mean inside the shell right? The rounds (I'm speaking bullet) aren't hollow and filled with propellant like a rocket. Just trying to clarify what you said there. I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just saying your and my wordings might be different for the same thing.

  • Can't see shit

  • but did not hit the target?

  • I can see the trail VERY CLEARLY. You sorry sons of bitches need to go get some glasses.

  • @johnnyrckt Sorry, but the only thing you can see is the gun powder coming from the gun!

  • @DawgDaDon Turn up your god damn glasses ya blind sob. I can see it Clearly and gun powder burns INSIDE THE ROUND! if it didn't the round would go anywhere. Bullet trail is highly visible 09 013 17 22. Every time I can see the bullet trail highly visible.

  • poor video bro

  • nice capture, and tanner92 what actually happens when you "stir" this air up? its rapid expansion or displacement and then the collapsing of air. when it collapses it compresses so tightly so rapidly it creates almost a super sonic moisture which is instantly evaporated. the more humidity the more visible. read up on a jet breaking the sound barrier, its no different. Shoot out over a 1000 yards and its actually a lot of fun to watch.

  • yeah... you can see the cavitation wave quite easily actually. Those things leave a pretty big wake in the air through the distortions caused by hot "mirage" like air.

  • @glowtwinkey101 yu mean u cant see the vapor trail?? comeon..

  • Why so many dislikes? You can easily see what the video describes, and you know what you are looking for. My guess is most people have no idea, and expect something crazy.

  • there is nothing sniper or tactical about a remington 710 they are crap!!! save up and buy a 700

  • nice.............492 people are mad becuz they couldnt see the bullet trail

  • press 5 repeatedly to watch vapor trail at about a 45 degree angle up and to the left of the target

  • People are such douche bags on here with their worthless comments. How about you guys start making some vids.

    Dickheads.

  • what youre seeing is the sonic shock wave the bullet makes due to it traveling faster than the speed of sound.

  • its easier to find it if u look at the target, then when he shoots you will see distortion in the above the target. then keep rewinded it by like a second. then you can follow the trail back to the gun

  • its called a vapor trail

  • actually its probably burning powder that you see on the vid, the bullet would have a vacuum behind it and suck a residue out

  • @countryboy1357 Sounds like a good reason but all the powder would have burned up prior to the bullet leaving the chamber.

  • @countryboy1357 Its the projectile being launched faster than the speed of sound, and slowing down at that long of a range to break the sound barrier again by going slower than the speed of sound. Just like an airplane :)

  • @countryboy1357

Eerm, actually I think what you're seeing is "propogation effect". Unusual for it to be caught on a camera though. Perhaps the condirions were just right, with just the right temperature and humidity.

Must be a good camera though. Shooting at 100 Mhz and above?

  • @countryboy1357 its more like the air in the bullet's flight path is displaced at a very high speed. the trail is visible as light travelling through the displaced air gets refracted.

  • @countryboy1357 But aren't the bullets configured specifically to produce a vapor trail so the sniper's partner can see if the bullet hit the target?

  • @countryboy1357 What your seeing isnt burning powder its what is refered to as tre bullet trace, its the moisture in the air boiling behind the round being sent downrange

  • @TheTanner92kennedy you're wrong, its actually the (rapid)displacement of air surrounding the bullet's flight path. meaning, in lay man term, the bullet stir up the air around it

  • @countryboy1357 Goole vapor trail and see how off you are

  • Kewl

  • holy shit! Never seen it before

  • sonic boom

  • OH WOW......not

  • visible panty line would of been more appropriate.twat.

  • very cool

  • more time at the range before you can call yourself any kind of sniper

  • @wilvburd So you want me to title the video, "Remington Model 710 Bullet Trail Visible"? I'm sure sniper gets typed in more frequently than that. But thanks for your concern.

  • @K20017

No, but you can use that in the tags.

  • @wilvburd Did he say he was a sniper? No. Read before you try to troll you dumb fucking kid. Get a life.

  • I see it.

  • the last shot u could see it the best

  • YAWN!!!!!

  • Halo players... will jizz.

  • shit

  • ......wow, that was disappointing. The title makes it seem like it would be something awesome. How misleading.

  • @xzc426 If you were expecting a Halo type contrail, I can see why you're upset.

  • @K20017 lol, although that did pop into mind, I didn't expect it to be anything like that. I did expect to see more than that though...

  • @xzc426 Well, since I had to compress the file to be viewable on Youtube, and Youtube also changes it into a flash format, it' has lost most of it's original quality and could be seen much better.

  • @K20017 Download any video converter, you don't have to upload in flv, that's the automatic mode youtube has if you upload straight from device.

Get the raw video file, put in any video converter, convert in Wmv or Avi at high bitrate and same resolution. Putting up such a video, with a fine detail like that vapor trail, on this quality, not to be disrespectful, is really, useless. If you need help with uploading send me a pm.

  • @md0206 its not his fault, back in 06 youtube video quality just sucked.

  • It's called ' tracking / plotting the swirl'.

  • learn to hold the camera still

  • @09brownr The camera was zoomed in full and was mounted on a tripod. So the slightest bump or gust of wind will amplify the effect. Sorry I didn't have the time to do it twice.

  • I saw nothing.

  • Search "400 Yard 30-06 Shooting" the one by jeff.

Towards the end he slows the video down and you can see the trail.

  • u can fucken see it it misses the target

  • Comment removed

  • If you want to see the same thing on a larger scale, check out some videos of fighter jets as they just start to go supersonic. Try the keyword Mach cone, or check out the video "Sonic Boom - Extreme Close Fly By"

  • sorry but that's false info, the bullet split the air in front of it causing a vacuum affect behind it, which makes the trails, the bullet isnt hot enoguh to evaporate water vapors unless its specialized heat shells, this isnt the 1600s musket shot where the lead bullets melted when fired.

  • @urbanpunk6520 Bullets today are still made of lead.

  • @K20017 talking about how it was shaped, i know bullets are made of lead but some are missed. usually brass, copper, or other metals. and bullets today don't melt when they're fired. =-= it aint pretty when u get hit by those muskets.... the pellets actually melts a bit as well....

  • Of course a snipers bullet trail is visible. That's how spotters make wind adjustments. I can't remember what it's called though.

  • Reading trace.

  • I watched a documentary on military snipers and they called it something else. I'm going to have to try and find that movie and figure out what it was.

  • Most Army snipers and spotters call it reading trace...at least 10 years ago they did :)...it's still referred to as "reading trace" or "observing trace" in FM 23-10, the Army Sniper Training Field Manual.

  • That's how new technologies determine where the shot is coming from...the pressure waves the round generates.

  • it goes from the mid left of the screen to top

  • that was awsome!!!!

  • Yeah it does look high I can see it lol if you look at what looks like an aerial or something on the left hand side at around about 0:18 and then keep clicking 0:18 after the shot has been fired, you can see the bullet. Or at 0:10 you can see the trail just above the target's head, below the number 1 on the 17 :) hope this helps some people see it :)

  • i was getting so aggravated, every time the rifle shot, ide blink. and i miss it. UUGHH!

  • mute it?...

  • it aint loud, my eyes are fucked.

  • Good catch. Reading trace is definitely one of those awe-inspiring accomplishments.

  • i see it :D

  • you have to look very closely its very fast and hard to see

  • Aiming to high.

  • There are four ninjas in this video.

    Find them!

  • okey...

  • YOU ARE A SHIT WITH SNIPER!!!!

  • @titcapde It's not me shooting, it's my cousin. And the scope wasn't adjust at all, we just took it off an M14. You can clearly see him miss it on the first shot. On the last shot, I believe he hits center mass on the right target. He was shooting at the right target the whole time.

  • thanks for slowing it down for us *MASSIVE SIGH*

  • Why is this starred down?

  • cool. real tracers are cooler tho

  • I don't think its a good thing if you can see the bullet?

  • it's really only visible from this angle. you are actually watching the light reflect off the water vapor the bullet is creating (correct me if I'm wrong please) So it's pretty hard to see it from a different angle, especially if you're not expecting it

  • Remington 710 is not a sniper rifle. It is a low cost rifle made for hunting deer, bear, etc.

  • The Remington 710 is actually a modified version of the Remington 700/ 700PSS a.k.a. the 700P. The PSS/P just comes with a tacticle package and a ported fluted barrle. But you can get one for the 700 too. If a police officer/soldier isn't using the 700PSS (which is a purpose built sniper rifle) then they are using one based on it. The only difference between the 710 and the 700 is that the 710 has a few more plastic parts. It can be a sniper rifle.

  • Sure it can be. So can my T/C Hawken muzzle loader. But it isn't. The 710 is a low cost entry level rifle targeted at novice shooters and hunters. Too many modifications are needed to put it on par with a good purpose built rifle right off the shelf.

  • i saw it! its like a little vapor thing

  • 'm sure it was much easier to see in person

  • wow that was sick

  • i saw itttt!!!! 3 times!!! :D:D:D:D 5/5

  • its like halo 3 lol (my comment is a sentance yall should try'em sometime)

  • wheres the verb?

  • he obviously forgot the ' in its. then is would be the linking verb

  • you know you need to get out when you compare a real rifles vapor trail to a gun in a game that leaves an unrealistic smoke trail

  • ...since humans go to wars, some stimulants are always present... > heroes hero > heroin ! .... ( my father was captain in army, and he told me how they where given injections and things that made them capable of many things, for example eating whatever and not getting sick, drinking dirty water and having no consequences... )

    and str-a .

  • ... not pale in combat, but when they picked them up from homes and day after they where taken into buses that went to first line of front, so, those "soldiers" where comfortably "cuddling" with their wife's and girlfriends just moments before that surprise from military police.... ( get it... )

... and trust me, everything you are given to eat or drink or.... even those candies you are given have something in it.....

Pilots take amphetamines like M&M -s..

    and so on..

  • this ex YU war in nineties, and all where pale and shirtless of fear until the border crossing, there their superiors seeing how hard is for soldiers to handle with all that is ahead of them, told them to drink some tea, they did, and after they did ( drink ed that tea ), continued trip like going on vacation...

..... man that was there told me that...

  • You think so, don`t you ? About that shock and not felling when being hit you`re right, it happens often, but let me tell you story... group of soldiers went in war,

  • ( they didn`t sleep properly for 21 days before that happened, and they where marching for long time already when it hit him, so, they where half sane , that is why he did`t felt it... ) ( and probably drugged up, like all soldiers are when it gets hard to handle )..

  • .. that man I talked you about, that VW deal, he had sniper wound in his knee cap, on his side of a leg, on stomach,

... and seven other wounds, was volunteer in war in nineties...

he said he didn`t even felt it until other soldier told him he stepped into some pool of blood or something, bullet went thrum the knee, but in such way that didn`t made any serius damage ! like sideways... some unbelievable thing happened, he was lucky on that one..

  • saw it @1#

  • i saw it at the 2nd replay

  • i'n not sure but I would say this guy needs to dial in his scope..........he's shooting high/left..........mabey a lefty was using the rifle before him?

  • cock eye

  • like halo 3 :D

  • Is it in the middle left of the screen? Somebody a few comments down said 'Shell not Bullet'. The shell is still in the rifle until he ejects it so the trail is left by the bullet. What a dumbass

  • @beaconstructs Haha

  • i didnt c anything

  • shell not bullet

  • hey i saw it cool

  • Really subtle, but awesome.

  • I dont see anything

  • get a better monitor

  • me neither

  • it reminded me of visible bullet trail of The Matrix.

  • i was shooting at 200yrds with my 17HMR and i could see the vapor trail quite easily. its easy to see if you know what your looking for and have a high magnification scope.

  • hehe, very hard to spot but pretty nice

  • And how i egg worn this spring?

  • is it a vapor trail or is the projectile causing the local air desity to increase and therfor affecting the way light is refracted through the air surround the projectile

  • The projectile is creating the air disturbance. Same principle as a jet going supersonic, just a much larger scale.

  • You're seeing the refraction effects due to the changing air density around the shock wave, not a condensation cloud.

It's the same principle upon which Schlieren photography is based.

  • basicly pushes the air out of the way creating space with no air

  • boring

  • This absolutly an unadulterated video. In the military, I worked on the Rifle Range, and with a pair of 50x binoculars I saw the same exact thing as seen on this video. It is difficult to do but you can see the bullets vapor trail with a pair of bino's.

  • You saw the air got spinned like a tornado after the shot. Awsome

  • The vapour trail is juz off the top right corner of the target ("10 o'clock position"), under the digit "1" of lane 19.

  • holy fuck!

  • Because even at 100 metres, they're still travelling at ~2,500 fps.

  • Good vid, I dont know why other ppl coudnt see the bullets.

  • And how i egg worn this spring?

  • bullshit cant c anythin

  • DIDNT C NONE BITCH

  • cool.

  • kool

  • cool, but the highest caliber rifle I ever shot was a .223 (besides a 20ga. slug) and I shot it indoors at only 50ft. but is that vapor trail easily visible by the naked eye when shooting outdoors?

  • No, it was only visible when I zoomed in as far as I could with the camera.

  • i want my 27 seconds back

  • douche

  • very original.

  • thats sick

  • nice.

    i saw it.

  • that was cool.

  • that was awesome!

  • This is an awesome vid!!! :) favorited

  • That was cool.

  • thats awesome i saw it

  • great vid!!! 5 stars!! ps. WHY IS THIS VID RATED SO LOW???????? there is no other vid like this, you can clearly see the bullet vapor trails.

  • Comment removed

  • must of been a subsonic one..i saw it..a good arch to the target but didnt see if it hit or not

  • The first shot was top left, over the targets. Second was top right over the targets. Third appears to be a headshot on the right target and last looks center mass. Next time I go shooting, I'd like to film it in high def.

  • ya look at 0:9 and you should see it in a few seconds top left he misses the target

  • whoever cant see that must be retarded or somthing.

  • yep, i clearly saw both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought I'm blind but I saw somketing at 0:10 next to left target .I don't know what is this or maybe issue

  • Nope, that's it, at 10 seconds, the quick sharp arc goes in right above the two targets.

  • I saw it.

  • nope...no trail..just wants views..

  • look just left and up from the target on 1st shot, thats how i saw the blur :P

  • nice - I only saw it on the last shot

  • I had to watch this several times before seeing it. Look up and left of the left target on the first shot to see the effect at its greatest. The bullet has a lot more arc than what I expected to see. Really cool video, thanks for posting it.

  • Sure thing! The arc was greater than I expected as well! Probably why most are having trouble seeing it. The Halo generation....

  • What!? I didn't see anything!!

  • I could see it on ever shot. First time I watched I only saw a couple. As soon as you hear the shots look for it.

  • i only saw the first one

  • i only saw the first one.

  • thats sweet. what calibre do you have to get up to before you can see that?

  • Not sure; but my guess would be any caliber really. A smaller sized bullet would have the same effect, just on a smaller scale.

  • i shoot balloons at 200m with my 22lr with hypersonics rounds. ill try get some footage and post as avideo response

  • Sweet!

  • i never really saw .22 rounds vapor trails, but you sure can hear them if your out in the desert shooting targets
