@twilightfan20802 pretty much every main character has 3 themes. I think L might have 4 related to him, I can't remember off the top of my head though since in the OST they arn't named them A, B, C..wish they did, woulda made it easier haha
@BeyondDGrave Well yes...but in the end Mello had enough common sense to figure out that without Near he wouldnt surpass L, and Near had more gut feeling then L, as to say he would come to conclusions more quickly unlike L who would just rely on theory and then experiment. Thats why Near was able to figure out who Light was pretty quick.

@PeircedinBlood no...Near was able to find out who Light was BECAUSE of L...It's because of Light's battle with L and his takeover of L that Near was able to determine. Neither Mello nor Near are at L's level, even Near admitted that, it took mello and Near and Mikami's screw up to put Near ahead of Light, whereas L would have already been ahead as Light mentioned what L would have done to consider the fake notebook from the start
@PeircedinBlood on a side note, L suspected Light was Kira more quickly than Near did, especially considering L had to start from scratch. When L said "the probability of Light being Kira is 4%"(or somewhere around there, 3, maybe 5) that was an outright lie, he really meant around 90%. Don't believe me just read the interview with the writer in volume 13: how to read.

I believed that Near was Albino at first but then noticed his eyes were kinda grey-ish...plus he had a little color to him...i think... and Albinos have no pigment whatsoever...sooo...yeah... o_o...

To get everything lined up in a bit, BB is "Beyond Birthday". a Serial killer in the BB Murder Case, as L Reffers to working with Naomi in the past, before the Kira case that he suceeded. he is a human that was supposely born with the so called Shinigami eyes, being able to tell when you'll die upon your number and being able to see your name, he decided to murder a few. he is mistaken with L because his features are quite the same. he tries to iminidate L, and does his personality similiar.
@RickygoesRawrr BB (beyond birthdays) is a serial killer who was raised in wammy's house along with near, mello, A (one of L's successors) and many others who looked like L eventhough he wasnt related in any way, when he figured out he wasnt going to be picked for the new L, he went insane and left the wammy house and started killing ppl. so if he couldnt be L he wanted to be better than L by making a case that he couldnt solve by killing ppl to prove he was better.
@RickygoesRawrr .after the death note anime & manga was made, there was a spinoff novel (VERY good book!) called "The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" & took place 2 years *before* the Kira case...and BB is a character from the wammys house, originally the second successor (1st was A, then BB,..Near & Mello) & L tries to solve the case with Misora Naomi (she appeared in the DN anime, the FBI agent)...and L knows BB is the one doing murders..CHECK IT OUT!
BB was not obessed with L. He looks like L because L said something and it made BB snap so he made himself look like L and kill people so everyone thinks L was killing people.

If M and N had worked together, they would have surpassed L.

@RickygoesRawrr BB (beyond birthdays) is a serial killer who was raised in wammy's house along with near, mello, A (one of L's successors) and many others who looked like L eventhough he wasnt related in any way, when he figured out he wasnt going to be picked for the new L, he went insane and left the wammy house and started killing ppl. so if he couldnt be L he wanted to be better than L by making a case that he couldnt solve by killing ppl to prove he was better.

@RickygoesRawrr .after the death note anime & manga was made, there was a spinoff novel (VERY good book!) called "The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" & took place 2 years *before* the Kira case...and BB is a character from the wammys house, originally the second successor (1st was A, then BB,..Near & Mello) & L tries to solve the case with Misora Naomi (she appeared in the DN anime, the FBI agent)...and L knows BB is the one doing murders..CHECK IT OUT!

BB was not obessed with L. He looks like L because L said something and it made BB snap so he made himself look like L and kill people so everyone thinks L was killing people.

What with all this chatter about Beyond? This is just my understanding of his character:
He was obssessed with L. He committed a bunch of murders. Then he tried to commit suicide to escape them. Then Kira killed him. The end. :D

Then BB...then Near/Mello) BB wanted to be BETTER* than L & created the murders to get Ls attention, which it DID (congrats BB- LOL) so L hired Misora Naomi to be Ls "eyes" & the rest is history..xD

For all of those that are confused, Beyond is not L's SON nor is he L's TWIN. Beyond MAKES himself up to LOOK like L because he IDOLIZES him, they are not related. L is the best detective in the world, the best THREE detectives in the world actually. So Beyond decided that he was going to be the best CRIMINAL in the world. One that L can not catch. That was B's plan anyway. Is this all cleared up now?

its clearly states in the novel that BB was a smart kid who was the second child of Wammy's house. BB was in NO way related to L. he DRESSED as L in order to hide his own identity whilst murdering people. the whole point of his murders was to beat L. he would have perfectly defeated L, too, were it not for naomi misora.
