  • mine use to look like that then i took an arrow to da knee

  • Mine is neither.

  • Umm my controller says TP-19 and c15.. Help?!!!

  • @airsoftxboxxdudes

Again, which way is C15 mounted????

Holding the controller as normal, but back to front, if the bands on C15 go silver/brown/silver horizontally (left to right), that is a CG.

If the bands go silver/brown/silver vertically (top to bottom), that is a CG2.

  • I have a quick way to tell which is which, Matrix - CG - CG2:

With the battery out (as in the video) look at the RH side for L1 in white on the silkscreen, that is a Matrix.

Look at the LH side for C15. If the bands go horizontal, that is a CG.

If the bands go vertical, that is a CG2.

You will have either L1, OR C15, but not both.

@cianw - yours is a CG or CG2, depending upon orientation of the capacitor.

  • i thought that the matrix was the cg controller :S i cant watch the vid cause it wont load for me but on mine it says c15 under the battery so is mine a matrix of CG or what? thanks man.

  • THIS VIDEO IS OLD AS FUCK I AM SURE THERE ARE TONS OF NEW TYPES OF CONTROLLERS STOP BITCHING

  • mine had thoughs markings in the back "tp3 and tp19" and it was a cg wtf man

  • i got mine with the new xbox 360 last june but mine says tp19 help?

  • If i got one in january 2009 with a new 360 which one do you think i have?

  • Whats the difference between the matrix and cg controller? because i have 2 matrix ones and one Cg and i think the cg might be a bit lighter.

  • So whats the differene between CG & Matrix-board controller?

  • Thanks :)

  • theres about 4 dif types now

  • Hey man calm down I'm mad at me for not noticing this u didn't do anything wrong alright? It was a retoricle question

  • this was no help... i have the tp 19 but there is no tp3 on it... wtf do i do

  • I don't have to tell you shit this isn't a public service dooche bag, try not being an asshole. Guess what, if you weren't you would have gotten an answer.

  • dude, calm down.

  • @CLI10010111 Don't rape the poor guy.

He just doesn't want to ruin a controller.

  • @CLI10010111 I actually think he has the board you didn't cover... the CG2! It is a little different. But, the main things are unmistakable.

  • @zack11099 I actually think you have the CG2! It is a little different. But, the main things are unmistakable.

  • Isnt there 3 types now?

  • What about 3rd party controllers? (MadCatz, Hori, ect..) How would I found out about them?

  • I am sure it is possible, however I doubt you will find any tutorials online because the third party controllers are pretty shitty, with some basic electronic tools you should be able to find a power point, a ground and the trigger point without too much trouble and that's all ya need to find, than use a multimeter to determine what components you need. I would rip it apart and tell ya how if this convo was in person instead of on youtube. Sorry I couldn't help more

  • Thanks!

  • ya, it is kinda useless but i would use it all the time one Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 cuz of the exp glitch (didnt need live to do the glitch), i ranked up so fast... lol

  • I'm not saying it is useless in ALL situations. but in the waw patch afraid so. I do appreciate the info tho and I may find it useful in the future.

    thanks for your feedback

  • Erasing patches:

first off, you cant play games online with out the patches (i will explain at the end)

    1. go to dashboard

    2. go to system setting --> memory

    3. you will then see you hard drive. DONT SELECT IT.

    4. press Y, then put this code in ( X, X, LB, RB, X, X )

    5. it will ask you to perform maintenance, press yes.

    6. DONE

now start up game, it will ask you to update (if signed into live), press no (cuz its the patch), you will then have to continue offline...

    5. it will ask

  • if you can't play online un-patched than it is useless. lol Still pretty neat tho

  • damn.. i sold my cod 4.. lol i figured cod: waw would be good to test cuz if you have a fast finger you can make the pistol shoot REAL fast.

  • there is a rapid fire patch on waw that is why it isn't ideal to troubleshoot with it. borrow a copy of cod4 from a friend to get it working properly andt then tune it for waw

  • i know how to delete the 360s cache to get rid of patches, so i hope i could do that with cod: waw. BTW... i figured out that only 1 out of the 4 controllers i had were moddable. so when i go to school i'll solder the wire on and use test equip. to see if it worked.

  • all controllers are modable... but if you know how to erase patches please share I don't care to play waw but i bet many people would like to use their mods on it. if you know how please post so I can share with others. thanks

  • Would you by any chance know why my controller doesn't rapid fire even though i have tried practically every single way to mod it. I even tried taking a piece of wire and connecting one end to the middle pin of the trigger and taking the other end and poking several different test point on the circuit board. I couldn't fast a steady pulse anywhere.(BTW... the whole time i was testing the test points, i was on COD: WAW with my pistol out)

  • During the Beta of waw the r/f mods worked fine. The footage you see on youtube is from that period of time. The fastest you can shoot in waw now is about 3.7 Hz. if the pulses exceed that your fire rate is limited to 1Hz (1 shot a sec) you can r/f in waw just not as fast as cod4. I suggest you test and troubleshoot in cod4 and then refine it to work in waw. I have a DIY vid on my channel give it a go and if you run into problems send me an email bro.

Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying.

  • how can u tell on a wired controller

  • I haven't worked with the wired boards, but I just sent an e-mail to a guy that I am sure knows. When he replies I will let you know.

  • "There are 2 versions of the Wired controller right now, Matrix and CL, and you can guess which it will be by looking at the number on the sticker on the back, but to 100% know you really have to take the thing apart to know which one it is. Doesn't really matter anyway as the same R/F setup that works on one will work on the other, minus the lame arse '2 wire' one since the CL uses a different LED layout from the Matrix, same as the Wireless controllers."

    -quoted from RDC of X-S

  • thnx for the info :)

  • no prob bro if you have any more questions feel free to ask, I will be glad to help.
