  • Why don't you eat the salad and demonstrate???

  • you r so sexy~~~ you r my aphro!!

  • Very Great salad! I should try this ha

  • The problem is : why do people need aphrodisiacs ?

  • I'd hit it.

  • Very good! I hope you have more videos with differente recipes. Perhaps a main course, appetizers, etc. Thank you!

  • i like grapeseed oil for the double duty

  • do cooked oysters have the same effect?

  • Cooking should not significantly affect the zinc content of oysters and eating them cooked is safer than raw. However, there is no "proof" that oysters really do increase sperm production. The aphrodisiac claims of oysters are anecdotal

  • 'olive oil doubles up' - I like that line.

Great stuff - keep it up!

Never thought about shaving the dark choc on a salad. Great idea. More vids please!

  • Thank you. I'm happy you like the videos. Yes, chocolate on a salad is a great way to enjoy it often without going overboard and it really compliments the peppery arugula & sweet berries. Am working on a TV show so not sure if & when I can do more stuff here but will try. Thank you for your support!

  • "Just eat an oyster, and you're good to go"

    OK, that made me laugh!

  • Well, I'm glad I have made you laugh but it's actually true, at least that is what several men have told me.

  • Ur good at performing this thing. I learned something1 =D

  • Thanks, I'm glad you liked them. I have two other videos you can see on my channel. You can learn even more. Clink on The Kitchen Vixen Icon in the upper right corner.

  • Your user name is "dontreplytomcomment" but since you asked...a multi vitamin/mineral supplement is not "bad" & can act as "insurance" to help you meet some of your needs. But individual vitamin and mineral supplements can throw things off balance. Talk to your a Dietitian or MD before taking individual supplements.

  • Thx again

  • You're welcome. Have a great weekend!

  • Hi there! 1st, thx for the lovely educating vids (3of them) plz, how much calories in this salad?

    How much fat?

Can u upload any vid. about milk plz? cow milk and soy bean milk!

    Thx

  • 290 calories, 12g fat

I use different milks such as almond milk and sometimes goats milk. It really depends on individual taste preferences & tolerance. What are you looking for?

  • Thx 4 reply,

1-I drink normal packed milk with my oats every morning! should I change to Soy bean Milk to loose weight?

I tried to cook today using chilliz but I added ginger (fresh ones) a fish fillet, Garlic, Onions, tomato sauce and gren pepper. I will follow ur chilli recomendation Promise!

    thx

  • Weight loss is all about calories in versus calories out. I switched to almond milk which has most of the same nutritional attributes of Soy milk but for half the calories. Although there is a lot less protein in Almond milk but I like the flavor more than the soy milk. See, nutrition is always changing. In my first video I used soy milk. The key is to listen to your body. Good Luck!

  • what do you think about zinc supplements?

  • Zinc competes with copper for absorption Too much Zinc can hinder the absorption of copper Zinc & Copper play similar roles in the body like protecting the immune system If Copper is not properly absorbed because of too much Zinc then the immune system will be compromised Like everything in life moderation is the key Additional Zinc may be appropriate for times of stress such as wound healing & illness Total dietary Zinc including supplements, should not exceed 40mg per day, the safe upper limit

  • Many thanks KitchenVixen. I know you're not a medical professional, but would you mind advising me on what you think about this. I'm a vegetarian and eat the same things everyday fairly strictly, and my only animal products are 1 daily egg and several scoops of Optimum Nutrition whey protein a day. All together, my zinc adds up to 13.83 mg.

  • My total copper from plant sources add up to 5.01 mg (which includes 1.2 g of copper from my nightly hot cocoa). I plan on taking 25mg a day of methomethionine zinc. This would yield a zinc/copper ratio of 38.83mg/5.01=7.75 (the optimal ratio is eight?) Do you think I should take 1 mg of copper a day as well? Should I opt for the zinc supplement that offers 15mg a day?

  • I M a Medical Professional A Registered Dietitian (RD) with a Bachelor's & Master's of Science in Nutrition RD's work in healthcare & are more qualified than an MD& certainly more than a Nutritionist I eat very similarly to you 1 egg per day & Whey protein Beans & brown rice or Quinoa Some Tofu or Tempeh Occasionally some fish Women need 8mg Zinc & men need 11mg per day You can take a multi which will have extra Zinc for "insurance" Zn deficiencies are quite rare in this country

  • So, I'm sure this will benefit all your other vegetarian subscribers... What's your professional opinion on how many milligrams of zinc should be obtained from plant soruces in order for vegetarians to avoid zinc deficiency?

  • I notice you use the apple cider vinegar that's cloudy. That's good, since the cloudy stuff, the mother, is extremely nutritious.

And I am a vegetarian, so oysters are definitely out of the question, but otherwise, this looks like a fantastic salad. I never would have thought of putting dark chocolate, or any kind of chocolate, on a salad.

  • Organic vinegar is best but the health claims are not well documented scientifically therefore I don't make any specific claims about apple cider vinegar I found one study which showed that apple cider vinegar delays gastric emptying which may in turn help with post-meal blood sugars In other words you could have a more gradual rise in blood sugar which may help control your appetite Chocolate on salad is yummy & a great way to control portions of something which can be very calorie dense Enjoy

  • When I started drinking the stuff, I noticed healthier skin, better digestion (no more "acid reflux" tummyaches), a clearer head and my bald spot vanished. I use the Bragg brand.

  • There is something to be said for "anecdotal" health claims. You are your own best teacher. Listen to your body, it will tell you what you need. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  • Honey's an aphrodisiac? That would explain Winnie the Pooh's constant hunt for it. Silly ol' bear. :)

  • What a cute reference. Thanks for that. I love Pooh. He's a Taoist so I think he understands and accepts the constancy of life

  • Hey, Elizabeth,

Love the new video. I don't think I will ever look at raspberries the same way again. The thing about oysters is no myth.

  • Hey Stewart,

Glad you like the video. Now I am on to my pilot. With a broken foot and all I am really going for it this time. Fingers crossed. Happy Holidays!
