@jxxybxxy2002 He interpreted Dylan from the very beginning of his career. He did an amazing version of A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall back in 73. Check it out.
Ah ! So sad !!! Bryan - don't bow to these TV a-holes! Letterman hasa minor following in the US, but YOU are definitely a step above....don"t let him cow you...you are MORE than his equal !!
That's "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" from his first solo album "These Foolish Things." It is a killer version, yes. The album isn't just European. It was a world-wide release.
I think there might be a new Roxy Music album coming soon. Bryan Ferry's website is undergoing major re-construction. I hope they tour again and come to the United States I missed them the last time they came. I've been a huge fan for almost 30 years.
I hope you are right, I was 13 when I snuck into the gym to see them at Kent State University in 1975. I last saw him in 99 at The House Of Blues In Vegas, though I have seen him one other time. This last CD was the last actual CD I have bought besides packs of 100 blanks!
i don't understand why this album was panned by some people. it's excellent. ferry is the last of a breed when it comes to covering other people's songs and interpreting standards.
I wish Ferry would do some new stuff rather than doing a stupid tribute to Mr. 60s Scammer Bob Dylan. I stopped drinking the Dylan koolaid long ago. (He was right when he said his words mean nothing... they really do mean nothing). The kid is a great guitar player. Glad they left that wanker Spedding back in England too. I mean, Spedding... what's he ever fucking done????
bloggerjoe, Hmm, Well I'll have you know Chris is a well respected session player. Carry's kudos with me because he influenced that great playing on Never Mind The Bollocks. To make a point He's a musician's musician. Terrific player.

sorry, no power at all. Not this voice anymore. I hate to say it for I love early Ferry's stuff (in Roxy). But in the video above I really enjoyed the letterman jingle much more than his cover of Dylan. No one has to agree.
Agree with you very much ...but has Neil Young ever done... Virginia Plain better than Bryan Ferry`s Virginia Plain!(1972) Roxy...eh? Dylan included... have the...eh.. Americans heard of it... reseaearch?
I can't believe what Bryan Ferry is able to do with this song. WOW! What a voice, what a personality, what charisma, what presence, what a guy! Two thumbs up!
Makes you wanna grab him by the jacket collar and pull off your tie with his teeth before leaving all kinds of lipstick kisses on his collar.............
Don't you think we dont know that by now Bryan has a great way of been able to cover these songs and his voice suits this uptemplement and bring these songs into the 21st century No one is disputing that Bob Dylan isn't a good song writer but i perfer bryan singing these songs please note this is a general comment not been bitchy by any means
OMG!! Bryan looks sooo gorgeous!!! He has gotta be one of the sexiest men on the planet!!! Went to see him during the 'Dylanesque' tour - he was amazing!!!
You are soooooo right there Pixie He's the love of our life and what a brilliant musician Our Bryan is He so much needs to receieve this Hall of Fame is well overdue , for His contribution to the music Industry for 35 years and all that he has done in between this.
Glad to see my favorite musician still at it..one of the most gifted songwriters of our time..ahead of his time, and underappreciated by many..thanks for a lifetime of great music, Bry!
Bryan never fails to please me...I saw him play in Amsterdam this year and he still blew me away, despite the fact that I can't stand Bob Dylan (Dylan writes good songs, but his voice sounds like a vacuum cleaner to me)...
OMG - I fell asleep, didn't even make it to the Top Ten list, woke up in a state of bliss upon seeing gorgeous Bryan singing to me. Loved the arrangement. Thanks for the song ID notseafood
