The Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday are Alnico 2 magnets i have a set of Tonerider AC-2 also Alnico 2 magnets i barely hear any difference between Tonerider and Bare Knuckle i had them both in a ES335 custom made no brand but same quality as ur Gibson but u make any pickup sound good with ur playing style ;)
@VanDiekum My BK set has Alnico 4 Magnets. I ordered them that way because (according to Tim - the man behinf BK) Gibson used AIV magnets in the 50s ES335 guitars ;)
hey mate , the pickups is alnico 4, but is 2 or 4 conductors wire ? i wanna change the pickups to my hagstrom viking ! so, good sound , good feeling you sound very good , best regards !!
@jp6l6 thanks mate , I know that , i need the 2 conductors for my Viking , because I dont want to change the switch configuration , thanks a lot for you comment , best regards
Great playing and a beautiful tone....bare knuckles are totally superb arent they : ) got a set of nickel covered mules in a gibson 67 reissue v and my oh my they destroy me!!!!
Nice clip, nice playing, nice tone. I take it that you listen to a lot of Pink Floyd... ;-)
Just wondering, what didn't you like about the stock PAFs that came in it? Why'd you change the pickups?
I've demoed a few at local stores, I'm struck at how weak the bridge pickup is compared to the neck P/U. You'd think that the custom shop would sell the guitar with a balanced set of pups in it.
I disagree in your last point. Far too many use heavy dist. to cover up their tracks instead of more practise. The tone in this video is so pure and sweet. Combined with elavd`s phrasing and lines....it`s just dreamy:)
ah i didnt knew u cud choose between type's of magnets i bought them second hand tough ... for how much did u bought the alnico 4?
I think i might go for the PG Blues but i havent heard any youtube reviews about them yet ;)

@VanDiekum I don't remember how much I paid for them, but I think that the cost of this set was the same as the A2 set ;)

hi man, great playing! Where did you get the backing melody from, could you please tell me the name of this mp3?
Thank you very much.

@Messmertee Thank you my friend.
This is the backing track of ZZ TOP's song "Blue Jeans Blues".
You can easily find it for free in backing tracks sites ;)

Thanks for your comment!
The pickups have 2 wires, so they don't split.
elavd 2 years ago
However, these pickups are available featuring 4 wire. Tim Mills from BK confirmed this to me.

Thanks for your compliments ;)
I am indeed a David Gilmour fan :)
I didn't like the stock pickups because they weren't well balanced. The bridge was too bright while the neck was too "muddy".
This set is very balanced. Check my other video too. This one doesn't have good sound...

so many clips with heavy distortion out there,
they should listen to your great sound and lines
I may get a lot of bad feedback-
but I think some use heavy distortion to cover poor playing--(just some)

loved it, where do you get the backround tracks?
rickso12 3 years ago
If you write "backing tracks" on Google you'll find many sites with free backing tracks.
I don't remember exactly where I found this one...
