  • Susie, that is amazing. I paint with acrylics because I turn watercolor in to a big mess, but your video has made me reconsider. Your watercolor wave and ocean is fantastic! Also, it's one thing to be a great artist, which you clearly are, and it's another to be a good teacher, and you've got that gift as well. Thank you for the video. Your paintings are inspiring. :)

  • hi Susie my name is Gabriel, you seem like a wonderful artist in doing a wave. you should most definitely come to Miami and become my teacher. i was thinking of doing a wave in acrylics and any wave that i think of doing i have a feeling that I'll mess up. so i was wondering if you have any ideas that can help me out

  • @gabrielvinas1 Thanks for your comments. I love Florida. The color of the waves there is glorious! Give yourself permission to mess up while you are learing something new. Practicing over and over helps. You will learn alot from making mistakes (believe me I know!!!) Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

  • Thanks! This is a preview of my DVD. The DVD is amost two hours long with much more detail. You can find it on my website susieshort(dot) net

  • this is a beautiful pic but not really teaching u since its so fast

  • wao.....beatifull art..........

  • your paintings are great and your a great person :)

  • @DrawASketch

    Thanks!

  • How did you make the strong intense colors at the base of the wave 0:40 look more natural at 0:44? Plz reply!

  • @LilMissCrazy25 -- There was a lapse of time between 0:40 applying the wet paint and the dry wave at 0:44. Watercolors always dry lighter so I try to start with much darker value to allow for the shift when the paint dries. Also the more water in the mix the more diluted the color will become when it is dry. Try it!

  • Wow! Realistic watercolor with quick technique. Thanks.

  • @Judplay Thanks! Painting waves is really fun once you understand the anotomy of a wave.

  • Keep those brushes wet..........lol

  • @Decemberer1212 LOL---yes a wet brush will paint lots better than a dry one especially with watercolors!

  • wow so pretty.

  • @PrincessSakuno -- Thanks!! I appreciate your comment.

  • thats amazing thank you

  • Your demonstation about sea waves is very nice. On a small piece of watercolor paper the waves seems swirl and roll as if i can hear the sounds of the waves.Good work!

  • Thanks! I appreciate your comments! ss
