WCW from '95 - '99 was a hell of a lot better than WWE. Remember Hogan Vs. Goldberg title match, they filled a stadium with 48,000 people and that was a Nitro. WWE could only manage 18,000 in their venues. WCW was the better product in my opinion it was only because the networks AOL/Time Warner merged with Turner networks and stopped them from doing the "attitude" thing like WWE was doing. I stopped watching wrestling after 2001 when WCW was brought out. Wrestling died then.
Hell yeah it was! If WCW hadn't thrown down the gauntlet and forced WWE to compete with them, Pro wrestling would not be nearly the billion dollar industry it is today. Vince just doesn't grasp that. Having a competing promotion benefits wrestlers and fans alike. WWE will be forced to develop new talent and create new story lines as well as pay performers what they are worth now.
What TNA did was basically take wrestling back to 1999 and show us a Thunder rehash. It's not going to help bringing Hogan on board. It's gonna get some initial pop, but fizzle out. They're gonna ruin this show like they ruined WCW by shitty writing and squashing new talent.
It might give a bump to TNA, but nothing too long term. Bubba the Love sponge and the Nasty Boys are not what is going to take them to the next level.

Yes TNA gained some more viewers, but we'll see if that a one off or if they decide to carry on watching. With whats been promoted so far, I wouldn't.

Why should any fan care about ratings? It doesn't affect me at all. I like how tna is following up their big show with a rerun, now I have to wait well over a week to see what happens next.
The network cares, though, and a good rating means more confidence towards the TNA product on their part. Spike TV needs to see that iMPACT can draw, and in succeeding TNA has secured that Monday night spot for future scheduling.

A decision has been made by TNA and Spike TV to move TNA iMPACT! permanently to Monday nights, reports the The Wrestling Observer.
The second Monday night iMPACT! is scheduled to air on March 1 following the success of the first Monday iMPACT! on January 4.

ODB-you're match was 2 minutes and the Knockouts are just like the WWE divas in more ways than most will admit to. A few years ago-not even close, but now-they are very much alike.

I dont really like TNA. But I decided to watch the first hour of Impact.
But once RAW went on, I switched to WWE for the rest of the night.
TNA felt like an old WCW show, just a bunch of people showing up, Hogan hogging the spotlight.
WWE was way better and orginized.
Dameon is a TNA mark, or an employee because TNA was not that good at all.

TNA A 1.5 peaked 1 segment at 1.9 raw rating got 3.6 (same as timberlan) so tna got the most improved ratings and put out a much better show than raw. so i think tna won. of course we knew wwe would get more ratings

I seen this movie before, TNA is going to lose in the long run. They did a Hail Marry pass in the first quarter of the game. Damon you are becoming a Mark For TNA..and its sad. 1997 is dead and gone. As a WWE fan, the only high points to Impact were the matches that pushed their own stars. Bringing in all these past WWE stars, and past gimmicks was horrible Nasty Boys, Flair, Sting in the Rafters, Drunk Scott Hall. How is all of this repackaged nonsense an alterative to Raw. TNA needs to stick with pushing their own stars and stay on Thursday.

With the show TNA had on Monday, theres no way they are gonna beat WWE. The only thing they have better is the knockouts. Some parts of impact on Monday were a joke. The TNA fans at the impact zone were chanting 'this is bullshit' twice during the show. One of those was during Hogans's segment! And he was supposed to be your big draw!
Yes TNA gained some more viewers, but we'll see if that a one off or if they decide to carry on watching. With whats been promoted so far, I wouldn't.

People said the same thing with WCW Nitro first aired. (I mean it went unopposed since RAW was not on the monday Nitro first appeared) it was IN A MALL for god sake. And it was just as wild and crazy as this TNA episode was. it had major flaws.. but look what happend a few months later? we had the monday night wars. it will take baby steps, give it time. The network cares, though, and a good rating means more confidence towards the TNA product on their part. Spike TV needs to see that iMPACT can draw, and in succeeding TNA has secured that Monday night spot for future scheduling.
