Saw Rachel Laurin perform her Toccata from her 1st symphony live yesterday.  She writes some intensely complicated, yet amazing-sounding stuff.

Shes's a very talented lady ! Had the pleasure of meeting her today in the United Kingdom where she played a lunch time concert at the Birmingham Town Hall Organ which ended with this piece. She palyed the entire concert programme from memory how's that for musicianship ! I was amazed at her organ playing she makes any work seem effortless . Her sheer consumate skill and contol of handling cadenzas awkward passages glissando on the pedal two and three part

pedalling at times.
