  • do dragonflies attack people? theres not dragonflies in my country and id never let one sit on me...so horyfying!!

  • @enchantrune4 as long as you don't try to hold them they won't bite, in fact they are pretty docile and easily spooked.

  • @enchantrune4 when we were kids we catch dragon flies for playing.. if we hold its tail, it will try to bite. coz it beath using its tail !

  • mmmmm this arm seems like a nice place to sit down for a meal

  • he saved you!

nice to see you gave him a prize

  • he is eating him dragonfly attack!!!!

  • I used to see Dragonflies like that when I lived back in Korea :D

  • That's a huge bitch!

  • at summer time dragon flys always come at the field at school

  • frogs, mosqutio-fish,dragonflies, and aquatic salamanders are great mosquto "eliminators"

  • the best thing to do,it to put large amounts of dragon flys in some plaaces so that the mosquito populating can decrease

  • dragonflies are all around my pond in my backyard they keep mosquito's away :)

  • I saw a blue dragonfly eating a wasp the other day, was nibbling the unfortunate wasp's head off first D:

  • Good job Dragonfly, I hate wasps!

  • Dragonfly's can sting?

  • @Cawshes dragonfies have no stings. they catch their prey in spikey legs and chew with powerful jaws.

  • lol that's weird, wasps are supposed to eat dragonflies haha

  • I seen an awful lot of dragon flies in the field and around my barn this year.

Hope they took care of all the wasps, they were rampant in the barn too.

  • is this a really big dragon fly.. or is it me lol

  • good thing you killed the wasp for it cuz i dont think a dragonfly has the balls to kill a wasp or bee by itself. see other vids where dfs are gettin owned by bee/wasp

  • Dragonflies only eat prey alive. They are definitely capable of seizing and eating stinging insects. Read some entomology texts and check out more insect books and you'll see that they are marvelous hunters.

  • .. that`s cool.. somehow.

  • at first i couldnt see crap,, but now i see it

  • we need more dragonflies! down with mosqitoes! down with wasp!

  • up with hornets!

  • Amen to that!

I don't get how he got the bugger (& it is a BIG one) to land on him! I've seen many, but they've never landed on me... closest was when a damselfly decided to share my fishtank one time - found it perched on the glass.... beautifull creatures.

  • @DisneyGirlJeannie92 there are all part of eco systems unfortunately :D, so we have to live with all ... seems like very cruel world huh ?

  • Saw this in an old copy of New Scientist. Holy crap, I would have a heart attack if that thing landed on me.

  • @SpongepantsSquarebob

.. why?, its harmless.. just a big insect ;)

  • Good video, used to work in the Galloway Forest where this was filmed, adds an interesting dimension to the ecosystem.

    Jimmy

  • I also saw this in New Scientist, Thanks for sharing it

  • I saw your answer in the latest "New Scientist" (15th November 2008) And I wasn't expecting a URL in it. While listening to music ( which I was doing while reading the magazine ) I stumbled to my computer and typed it in, anway, great video.

  • ew ..

  • Yay dragonflies! I HATE wasps!

  • @TheGreaterGood80 Wasps eat mosquitoes and horse-flies (both of which 'eat' people), and although they are more likely to sting you than a bee, they only sting large mammals in self-defense. That makes the little guys okay in my book :-)

  • @bex444ify

you are reading too much books man

  • great vid

  • i saw your cooment and was utterly ammazed i subcontiously started scrolling for the url thanks very much!
