This was recorded in the summer of 1951, and was an "all-star" session (several record labels at the time often teamed two, three or more of their stable of artists into recording novelty songs such as this). This particular number was also performed by Dick Van Dyke and his partner [I've forgotten his name] when they started out in show business...and Dick remembered it to do it again on TWO episodes of his TV show {"The Sam Pomerantz Scandals" and "The Alan Brady Show Presents", in 1963}.
