Someone has said "Sabiha Gokcen Airport". No way! I ought to know. I am writing these lines from about 5 kms away from that airport. It is Ataturk Airport 5/23. But then how is it possible to see the runway head on. Hold on! Hold on! This was shot on a newer plane with a screen at the back of each seat. That's how! Now I can sleep comfortably!
One thing I do not understand: which airline is it that it is flying with the cockpit door open. How else would you hear all that passenger noise? Definitely not THY. Long since THY changed its policies and they never allow passenger into cockpit or fly with the cockpit door open.
Come on ppl.... stop that discussion which airport which runway it is.
1. It is Atatürk airport rwy6
2. Just before captain announcement you can see BA flight on left side on hold short before take off from rwy36R or L
3. Sabiha Gokcen Airport has only one runway with second one planned to build in 2012.
4. Look at the waterfront how close is to the runway and compare Sabiha Qokcen with Ataturk and their location.
Finally... I was the one filming it, so it is ATATURK RWY06 :)

That isnt Samandira!
Samandira operates only military flights and is located in the eastern part of Istanbul!

You are right,this runway is very old but there are two new Runways.
This Runway 06/24 is just used for landings.
by 2010 there will be the fourth runway at istanbul atatürk ariport :)
