I've seen the Jersey Boys and Midtown Men knock-offs, and while they were fun and enjoyable, I couldn't help but think that no one can match Frankie Valli's voice on these great songs.
i'm actually a metal head, but i went into the local music store bought an iron maiden cd, nofx cd, and a frankie valli cd, i cant imagine what the person who served me was thinking, i love old music, and i'm 18.
Dawn Wheeler,my family misses you so much, irregardless of how your dad treated you the wheeler family loves you very much and misses you so,everytime I hear this I think of my beautiful niece, who I haven't saw since you were in diapers.Elmwood has changed and not for the better, but it's still home,If you get this somehow or a friend knows you please respond,Uncle Joe
Really surprised at how good this was. Never knew his voice stayed that strong through the years. He's a very powerful presence on stage. I first heard Sherry when I was 5, growing up in East Orange NJ. Been a fan ever since.
This is actually awesome sounding live too. The harmony of this old 60s music is something I miss in music of today. Also, the drums in here are kickin' @ 0:40!!
What a legend and great singer. If only this generation could here music like this. They need to pull up there pants and throw out there rap and listen to what music really sound like!!!!!!
I LOVE The Four Seasons, I'm a huge fan. That being said...... this flat out SUCKS. The arrangement sucks, Frankie's off pitch, the Season are off pitch, it's painful to listen to. They truly were brilliant but not this time.
Joey,I gotta ditto everything you said.I`m from Brooklyn & the Beach Boys & the 4 Seasons have to be the greatest.I wish I could get to see the 4 Seasoons this weekend.KEEP ROCKIN`......SAL
Just damn brilliant...I've been checking out the Seasons and Beach Boys stuff on the Tube tonight and I am just stuck by the quality of the writing and performing. Sometimes you go back to something and it just isn't as good as you remember it Man, this is as good as it gets and better than I remember. Having grown up in New Jersey, it gives me goosebumps. Just awesome.
I won't tell you where I live but I've met many young ladies wih the name "Dawn" and when I hear them pronounce thier name they pronounce it "Don". I always ask them what happened to the "w" and why they don't pronounce it with the "w" and they just don't get it!
What happened to the beginning lyrics: Pretty as a midsummers morn, they call her Dawn Dawn, go away I'm no good for you Oh, Dawn, stay with him he'll be good to you Hang on, Hang on to him Think, what a big man he'll be Think, all the places you'll see Now think what the future would be with a poor boy like me Dawn go away, please go away Although I know I want you to stay
that was the original version in 1964 which was much better. there were two versions of this released. i liked the 1964 one better. the intro meant something. todays live version is longer & sounds very powerful. i saw f. valli @ coney island on 07/30/2009 along with c. francis. great shows. enjoy.
No singer's voice remains the same over decades of performing. For my part, I've loved the man since 'Sherry', and have been grateful for his persistence in bringing his best to every show I've seen through the years.
i agree, i heard that frankie smoked 2 packs a day till about 1990. that doesnt help, i would go see him at 95 years old, even if he was gargling the words from a wheel chair, totally senile, i would love every minute of seeing him live
no, 4 packs a day in the 1960's & 70's. in 1976 on the mike douglas show he said " i kicked the nicotine habit ". he probably went back to smoking. ****
there my favorite group im 14 lol i saw jersey boys then i went home and downloaded all there stuff my favorite song is "ronnie" its not that well known but its so good
haha, juss so you guys know, i forgot you guys dont know my joke! when II say ruined, for me and my friends, we do opposite days everyday, it means he is AHMAZING!!! I love this song!!

Frankie Vallie ruined this song!!!
I got my name from this song...idk how, seeing as my name is Rayanne...lol I guess when the first part of the song was playing, "Pretty as a great summer's morn, they call her Dawn." I "told" my mom my name in her womb!!
I'm only 14, but i grew up listening to oldies with my dad and grandpa when they built cars! The Four Seasons are really good...when Frankie isn't singing! he don't get the pitches right like the ones u hear on The 101.5 Oldies station.
well, this is a live performance. and frankie valli's songs are pretty hard for a grown man to sing because of its high notes. so i would imagine him to have some difficulty, but he's still a very good singer.
Being an old fart, I saw the original group back in the sixties. The only extra people they had with them were a drummer and guitarist. They were one of the best groups I ever saw. Sounded better than the recordings.
It seems as if were just yesterday, but it was 34 years ago this past summer...I was 19 years old & went to see my very first concert in Asbury Park, NJ. In concert that summer of July 1974 was Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. I'll never forget the excitement I felt & then experienced as that peerless group literally ran on to the stage to perform that night. What a sound! What a voice (Valli). He still today looks and sounds great, but there is never a time quite like the first.
they were the best
