Again i blow before a station and as needed to protect me against stupid people and lawsuits. after 13 years as a engineer i think i know what i am talking about. i also go speak to schoolkids as a representative of operation lifesaver.Regardless of what you think people on train platforms can be quite absent minded and unaware.
I agree with you. Most never stand behind the yellow line. They love to hang over the edge, talking on the cell phone, looking at their watch, like it's going to make the train come into the station any faster.
I hope it scares people so maybe they will pay attention and not get hit. We blow horns to alert people and things and nowadays people are on a mental vacation while waiitng for a train
hhp664, what is the process to becoming an Amtrak engineer, specifically on the NE Corridor, for someone like me who has no experience in the rail industry? Is it a fairly long one? I don't know if I'd ever do it, but I'm just curious.
LOVE THE SPEED AND ITS SAFETY-GO ACELA!!
