Johnny if you see the puck makes contact with the pad but it is slightly moving so it's a good goal its like saying everytime the Goaltender gets a peice on it and it goes in isnt a goal.

Some of you guys clearly don't know the rules. Its as long as the puck keeps moving forward. Player doesn't matter. But the real debate is if it touch the goalies pad. Cause if it did then the play is over. If not then the play is not over

you never touch the puck so i think a good goal just think of stamkos when he took the penalty shot vs fleury he lost the puck put i went forword and even when stamkos hit the bord fleury had to go out and touch the puck because it still was going forword or stamkos could of gotton up fast and took a shot

its a goal by the NHL rulebook, im a golaie and i know that even if the puck hits me and the puck CONTINUES in its forward motion, its still in play, so the rebound (if continues toward the goal line) is a viable way of scoring on the penalty shot.

@dragonfire105 a player is not allowed a rebound shot. once the player shoots the puck they are not allowed another shot regardless of the motion of the puck. now if the puck went in as a result of the forward motion and the player never touches the puck after the first shot, then yes it would be a good goal.

the puck is still moving forward. Theres a video (and Im sure you've seen it) of Steven Stamkos wiffing on a shootout against the Penguins. In the video, Fleury runs out to the puck to stop it and the announcers explain that had Stamkos gone back for the puck before it stopped moving he would still be allowed to proceed.

So basically, as long as the puck is moving forward its fair game.

I think that should count, 'cause the puck continued its forward motion. As long as the puck doesn't stop moving forward, the play continues. For example, when Stamkos slipped on his penalty shot against Fleury, Fleury had to skate to the puck and stop it before Stamkos were able to get up. If Stamkos had been able to get to the puck before Fleury, he could've continue.

actually it doesnt matter if u touch the puck just as long as the puck has no momentum going towards the net the play is supposed to be called dead so even if u dont shoot the puck if the puck stops the refs are supposed to blow the whistle. i am aware this is a game but considering that ea is so far ahead of the compition this is something they cant screw up and u my friend got screwed.

As soon as the scorer's stick comes out of contact of the puck their shot is regarded over. Otherwise everyone would keep on sniping the goalie until it went in.

Goal. I think as long as the puck maintains forward motion its still in play. That's why goalies often push the loose puck back towards center ice after stopping it.
