  • Why can't they restore #2102? They did #425 and it runs almost flawlessly. Is it in worse shape than #425 was? Could they restore the CP #1098 4-6-0 from Jim Thorpe? What caused #2102 to be "retired" in October, 1991?

  • @rwk360

There are talks going around about 1098 possibly being restored... well more then likely it's just rumors floating around.

And I believe 2102 was due for her 1472 day inspection, IDK why she never ran since then, IDK the outcome of the inspection.

  • @EricGSpro when will 1098 possibly run again

  • @rwk360 Im not sure what caused it to retire, but The #2102 has been restored to a good as new look, it is for a display at train weekend in port clinton im not sure the date but you should come check it out

  • Nice Nathan P3.

Too bad the only piece of equipment used by the RBMN in this video is the gondola.

  • Long Live 2102.

  • I hope that they are going to try and get

    her running next.

  • i agree, i love 2102

  • Does anyone know whats going to happen to 2102.

  • I spoke with an employee of R&N. They said if 2102 gets restored, it won't run again. Such a shame to see one of the 4 remaining T-1s relegated to museum status instead of pulling a train like she was meant to be.

  • Love that 4 cycle GE engine..

  • Long Live the U-boats...i miss them

  • Who else thinks it would be amazing to see R&N's 2102 and Steamtown's 2124 restored and pulling a doubleheader in their original paint scheme? Huh?

  • I would love to see this, i was on some doubleheader runs in the early 60s 2124, 2100, would be Great ..

  • I never even knew she was at Steamtown, I was only aware of 425 being there.

And qlancer, one of the popular railfanners here for R&N has some footage about a month ago of 425 shuffling 2102 around Port Clinton.

  • My God that would have been awesome if the 425 went to bring her home

  • Nice catch, and a very nice old-cast P5!

  • Nice clip... She looks awesome. I hope they get her running soon.

  • 2102 is a T-1, built for the Pennsy's Reading Line some time ago. Owned by the BM and R, she is stored in Port Clinton. I hope she rides again. I miss that locomotive

  • Iit's under restoration by its new owner, the Reading and Northern.

  • Last I heard she is not under any kind of restoration. Her future right now is as best as I can describe, up in the air. She might end up being the centerpiece of the Reading RR Heritage Museum in Hamburg. At least she'll be preserved.

  • where exactly is it headed? to a railway museum.

  • i remember when 2102 was up there (along with 425)...i was hoping she'd be restored to operate while she was there.

  • Nice! A Maj. 6th P5?

  • Neat.

  • Very nice. Hope to see her up and pulling again.
