@rockprogmetal They actually are that close together. This line is really bad about that. This is the worst line to ride during off peak/weekend but rush hour has lots of express trains.
@mt90945557 I can now see why, i took this line last weekend to Lagrange to meet with a friend and you were right about that. Im not used to the train stopping every 10 secs at stops that are a quarter mile apart from eachother. I normally take the Milwaukee North line to Fox Lake and Get off at Deerfield, its a much smoother ride with alot less stops
@mt90945557 On non-express trains, this line is actually worse than during off peak times because five stations on this line have rush hour service only, which means you will stop at those stations as well. Those stations are: West Hinsdale, Highlands, Congress Park, La Vergne, and Halsted Street. Therefore, during rush hour, ride express trains if at all possible.
@xtremepadrefan If someone iso stupid thathey fail tobey flashing red (o)=(o) , and bells and lowered gates, and not.ice a big train approaching, then may Dar.win!
As much as I like American locomotive horns and American steam locomotive whistles, I favor Quiet Zones.
I ride the Metra a lot. In Hinsdale they always have at least one car in the crossing gate, its like, are they aloud to do that? great vid and another subscription!
Blocking the street with a car keeps people from crossing while the train is there because another train could sneak up beside the stopped train and hit you. That happened once in Downers Grove.
Nice View!

amazing!!!! Please do this outbound from the cab
iPadwiz 1 year ago
@iPadwiz Sorry, can't do that because the locomotive blocks the view from the end door and getting into the locomotive is impossible...

i love the racetrack!!!!! and i dont even live in Chicago

How come there are not that many trains on Racetrack?
gomichiganrailmst3k 2 years ago
1. It's a Sunday so commuter trains aren't nearly as frequent
2. BNSF likes to give too much priority to commuter trains so when they come out, they hold up and trains trying to leave Cicero.

Thanks for the journey mt. Gotta love some of the background chatter you hear during the ride.
