@gewoongeinig Actually there is one :). It's on the right hand side covered by some thin rocks. The flapper has since been modified and it now draws water from the surface much better now.
@Halza7 Actually I believe 720P and 480P are 170 degrees but it's measured horizontally. I don't think the degrees are measured diagonally. But I'm not a 100% sure. Maybe someone else could comment and confirm this.

@prorobo Yea, because wide screens monitors are becoming the norm but R4 can look pretty good as my "Amargosa dunes - Beautiful!" video shows. The main problem is the aspect ratio, you would have to shoot the entire project in R4 mode or do a lot of cropping to make it match other video clips with different aspect ratios. Where R1,2,3 & 5 all share the same aspect ratio and cut together nicely.
@Albon2 Haven't noticed any difference in battery life but I use only R5 or R3 almost exclusively. As far as what uses the most memory, I didn't test it but I suspect R5 and R3 mode would use similar amounts of memory (R3 is lower resolution but has double the frames). But with the cheap price of memory cards these days I wouldn't let that dictate what mode I want to shoot in.
What an awesome koi pond!!!! so relaxing! I have a GoPro wide hd and did some videos with PowerDirector 8. There is a button for direct upload to youtube but I believe I actually manually uploaded it as an mp4. Camera was at 720p 30 fps. I attached a video above of me on my street luge(if you approved the video it will be there). Thanks for the video!
hey dude..great job man..just only one question...did you work staright from your camera mp4 files to the edition ? or your converted the file mp4 to something else to work in sony vegas..i really want to know is sony vegas suport mp4..i know avchd is fine..but i really want to buy sony vegas but i'm afrad that don't support mp4 without a converter..thanks for your answer..sorry cause my english is not the best but i;'m italian...
@beargio Sony Vegas movie studio 9 platinum is what I use and yes it works with the GoPro's MP4 files fine. Actually the GoPro uses the H.264 codec and the MP4 is just a wrapper. The only word of caution is you need a FAST computer or editing will be very tedious and frustrating (like watching a slide show rather then a movie). But once you render the final video it will play fine
thanks ...i really apreciatte your answer..i will go to buy that program here in new york tomorrow or order from the sony website..thanks very much...GREAT MOVIES MAN..and the colors are amazing...best wishes
Thanks for sharing the settings...somehow they didn't work as good for me. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro9. I suspect that when the video has lots of motion it's not as sharp. If you know any other settings that have worked well for you let me know. I like your Dunes video and tried does settings with know luck.
@MannyL358 Unfortunately no codec settings will save a very jerky video. Mount the GoPro on the helmet or ever better use the chest mount. It will smooth out the video and make it look much better. A few shots with the camera mounted on the handle bars bouncing all over place can be cool, it shows how rough the road is but I have found its best to use those shots sparingly.
in sony vegas , theres a "tic ,toc, toc, toc" sound when i import a video, not there after a render,, what is it?.. is there way to stop it? drives me crazy ...
I dont have any experience using Adobe CS3 but I have read that that Sony Vegas is easier to learn. Now that I have the basics down I really like using Sony Vegas, Im using the "Movie Studio Platinum 9" version which is the entry level Vegas but so far it has all the features I need. Im sure someday as I get better Ill want to upgrade but for now Platinum 9 is all I need.
nice vid. cant figure out how to edit hd footage with my gopro hd. im using premier cs3 . but seems to be a lot of converting. are sony vegas easy to use on hd footage ?
r3 is the best for YT and so on.
the quality is good and the size perfect ;)

So the 720p and 480p modes are not actually 170 degree (diagonal) field of view, only 960p is? Right?

Nicely done for the real life comparisons. R4 is a waste for most applications IMO.

So if i use R5 is my battery not going to last as long as it would if i had it in R4 or R3 and also will my memory fill up alot faster with R5?

@Albon2 With my tests, no, the format doesn't effect the battery life :)
i get around 2.5-2.75 hours of record time in normal 75-85degree weather
