What amp are you running the Lucille through and roughly what settings? I've been drooling over the regular custom lucille, and I think the only difference is a 498T instead of the 490T. I really like the sound you're getting from those settings, so any amp info would help me a lot. Thanks!

@Liscome Perhaps. But the fact that this ES doesn't have the F-holes, sets new limits to the instrument. This ES can now play from Blues to Heavy Metal. When a Regular ES "with" the F-holes, would sound terrible on distorted tone because of the terrible feedback.

King's tone is all about being totally clean. I have NO IDEA how this guitar really sounds, all I know is how your overdrive pedal sounds. There is an older one of these in my local music store. First time I ever saw one in person. I was surprised how heavy it is. Not like it weighs a ton but definitely more than I expected. It's on consignment and the strings were ancient and the guitar was badly in need of a set up so I never plugged in. But Phil sure sounds great....as always.

It's not just about a million notes a second like guitar crackhead....sometimes 3 sweet notes say a lot more. BB King is known for that. Then there is that story that Stevie Ray Vaughn told in a Guitar Player Mag interview where he was jamming with BB & wailing away trying to impress one of his heroes & then BB took his turn & one note blew away everything that Stevie Ray played.
