Often it's influential groups outside of government that get governments to go after people for exercising their right of speech. Governments should be there to protect freedom of speech and not take it away by succumbing to influential groups that are offended by it. You react to it with speech not violence or the threat of imprisonment.

What Henry does not understand is that we don't really have freedom speech. What? We do? Start talking and having a different view of something like the holocaust which has protection and sanctity in the US and Europe. In many countries in Europe if you engage in speech that is contradictory to a certain version of the holocaust you will go to jail. In America you say the same things in a public forum you will be ruined economically.
