  • Dear YouTube friends: "YOU ARE A VERY PRIMITIVE SPECIES" said the STARMAN.A very touching and sad scene.MR Bridges and Miss Allen should have won the OSCAR. Animals are God's creatures.Nobody has the right to kill them. HUNTERS AND MEAT EATERS ARE SINNERS AND CRIMINALS.THEY WILL PAY FOR IT ONE DAY. PLEASE PEOPLE STOP KILLING ANIMALS!STOPEATING MEAT!STOPWEARING FUR/LEATHER!ThankyouAdemar

  • Love this scene. First saw this movie when I was a kid and it's one of my favorites to this day <3 Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen are amazing!

  • best scene in movie history!

  • The actor at the end is Ted White, who played Jason in Friday the 13th part 4.

  • I don't think people get the meaning of this scene, how magical it is.As said before we need more starmen on earth....

  • @MotoGuy75AA You'd be surprised...

  • @MotoGuy75AA people that don't get this scene are the ones that have no heart to begin with. we are moving further away from innocence in this world.

  • I am a STAR MAN !!! I AM the LAFFING BUDDHA 777 !!!

  • Mario from Chile,I see this scene one million times and I can't stop to think what happend in this planet with us ?...I will show this movie to my grandchildren, this is the kind of movie who must see everybody for thinking in a future kind planet.

  • touching scene

  • Karen Allen has such great eyes!

  • you know how expensive this movie costs for some reason, i mean i know its agood movie, jeff bridges best, but £ 28 thats insane

  • Just found Starman for sale on amazon and let my fingers do the walking! In a few days hopefully I'll be able to show my kids one of the best movies of all time.

  • Starman is one of those timeless films that will always move you when you see it. A great storyline and incredibly emotive music..It moves me as much now as when I first saw it way back in the mid 80's.

  • My dad showed me this film as a child and I loved it, I always get emotional when I watch it :P, it has a great soundtrack too

  • This movie was ahead of its time. Now days movies are either hyperactive pyrotechnic overloads, or so "artsy" that they put you to sleep. This movie was simple and subtle but packed a mighty big punch.

It turned up unexpectedly on tv the other night, and I ended up watching it with my 20-something son who hadn't seen it since we all watched it when he was just a boy. It is as charming now as it was back then. If you have never seen it, you are really missing out on something.

  • i watched this film as a child and always remembered that tune in my head.

This is an amazing film and so few people under the age of 40 know of it!

My wife had never even heard of it, we both like sci-fi so i got it on dvd & we watched it,her reaction to it was amazing, i'd never seen her cry watching any sort of film but when we got to the deer scene she just cracked.

  • i love this movie jeff bridges is brilliant

  • BTW, the actor who played the hunter also played Jason in Friday The 13th - The Final Chapter. Anyway, I love this film, it always gets my crying..

  • I cry to this day every time I watch this scene, that's how powerful it is to me :)

  • @tributevocalist I do to.....like a hard powerfully cleansing weep....one of the most emotional moments in film history.

  • This scene defines all the movie!!!

  • Thanks for adding this....I totally forgot about this scene and it was awesome!

  • I think this is the one of the first scenes to make me fall done and clutch my heart. The whole movie is at it's best. Which is heart

  • I love this scene, so beautiful, makes me cry in a happy way

  • That's a lovely scene. Well done.

  • I wish I had his power to revive the dead...and not just for deer.

  • - me too.

  • I have always rated Jeff Bridges as one of the best actors we have and at last he wins a well deserved Oscar, about time too!!

  • Ce film est grandiose, et que dire des musiques, elles sont splendide ! J'ai BOF et le dvd et j'ai réussi à trouver des musique qui n'étaient pas sur le Cd. Ce film me fera toujours pleurer. Bravo à J. CARPENTER et J. Nitzche

  • Is this song featured in the soundtrack? Does anyone know?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes thoughout the soundtrack

  • What is it titled?

  • User Cinder90 has all the soundtrack

  • I have always loved this scene. If only real life was like that. Always makes me cry as does the end of the film. I'd like to see all 'bozos' put on a desert island somewhere and left to kill each other off.

  • were du we get of the humen race we cant sort or selfs out so sad hope they never show them selfs here ar ma b they r here

  • awsome movie

  • hey Cinder90 would love to see the scene in the boxcar in was gorgeous..

  • Karen Allen's face says it all and speaks for all that is good in mankind.

  • Agree!!!!

  • Wasn't there a scene JUST like this in Powder?

  • we need more starmen on earth

  • Who played the deer?

  • Did you know that JEFF BRIDGES was nominated for a academy adward for BEST ACTOR for this movie???,,,saddly he lost,,,,But i think that this perfomance and the TUCKER movie was one of this best of this carreer!!!!

  • Always loved this film since I was a child, and love the music! <3

  • I agree, it's a beautiful movie, seen it several times and always lkeaves me with a gooed and happy feeling.

For me it got the same feeling as the movie 'Cocoon'. Somewhat different approach, but basically the same meaning.

    Great movie too!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Nick

  • Uh Jesus never fails

  • I really love this movie!!!! It remind me my father!!!!!

  • can't believe this is on here!! Still makes me cry now and i'm 30.......amazing...

  • I love this scene. Superb and magic. Greetings from Brazil.

  • Dear YouTube friends: Mr Jeff Bridges and Ms. Karen Allen are wonderful. They deserve a lot of Academy Awards. Unfortunately, the Academy awards only bad actors cajolery.

ANIMALS SUFFER SO MUCH! ANIMALS ARE SO AFFECTIONATE, SO FRIENDLY, SO HELPLESS! The deerhunter is a MONSTER! The Alien came to teach us what Jesus tried and failed to do: TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY.

(PLEASE PEOPLE STOP KILLING ANIMALS! STOP EATING MEAT! STOP WEARING FUR/LEATHER!ThankyouAdemar)

  • Brings back memories from childhood... wow

  • I love this scene it's pure movie magic.

  • great scene great movie :)

  • The deerhunter is the guy who played Jason in Friday the 13th part 4.

  • Kane Hodder I don't think so

  • Jason was played by Ted White in Friday the 13th part 4. Kane was 7, 8, 9 and10.

  • STARMAN is one of my favorite movies and this is my favorite part of the film.

    Thank's Cinder.

  • The whole movie has been uploaded to youTube (in segments). I think user: ButterflyBlue UL'd it. Check it out.

  • probably Sarah (Mrs. I shoot wolves from a helicopter and slice their legs off for sport) Palin's least favorite movie.

  • Awesome movie! Makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it! Just lovely!

  • Oh, yes, it sure is! As I recall up to this point Karan Allen was, quite sensibly, both trying to get away from him and turn him in to the authorities. But this scene turned her around completely. And so on an emotional level it was more about her character, than anything else. Incredibly powerful!

  • Still, all these years later, and in abbreviated form, this is still a highly emotional scene. What a beautiful movie and beautiful score. The two went great together. A gem of a film. I wish John Carpenter would revisit this kind of sentiment with a new film.

  • This part was really cool.I love this mega cool movie.Greetings from Javoland.

  • What a beautiful score! Well done Jack Nitzsche... rest in peace.

  • Why is 2girls1cup a keyword for this video?

  • I think many people searches on that word so I picked it. I want everyone to see this scene, and the whole movie...I feel sorry for thoose who don't sees this movie, very deeply...

  • @Cinder90 i find this scene very moving nuf said .

  • just remembered how much i loved this movie!

  • incredible scene! I watched this in a theatre in ALbuquerque with my mom and siter when I was 5 years old; Thanks for a memory I never knew I had. I even remember the feeling I had at that time watching this scene. Words can't describe how life and work made me forget the day I first saw this. THANX

  • I loved this movie . You should of left out that hunter talking at the end. ruined this video :( The words that came out that actors mouth made me want to puke lol.. Good script writing !!!

  • One of my all time favorite sci-fi movies, thanks for posting. I still dislike the beginning because if you can travel a million light years you would certainly have a way to land a ship without crashing.

  • One of several factual mistakes made in the movie: It is wrong to strap a dead deer on the front of your vehicle. It blocks the view of the driver, which is why it's illegal, and the heat from the engine causes the hide and meat to decompose before you reach the butcher.

  • I thought the car was strapped on the deers back..and he was just taking a rest before taking the car home!

  • Magical scene - boddhisattva in action :)

  • This is like the only film by John Carpenter to be aired on the HBO-Family channel.

  • Hey I've been looking this movie for years!!! Does anybody knows where can I find it? Thanks

  • I aquired my copy at Future Shop

  • you're lucky, I had to download it cause I couldn't find it here. But it's not the same as having the DVD. Thanks anyway.

  • I can see where they filmed this seen from my house. The Restaurant closed, and then burned down, years ago.

  • Dear YouTube friends: What a wonderful movie!Actor Jeff Bridges and actress Karen Allen are magnificent. Unfortunately, the alien (aka Jesus Christ)message is got wrong. People go on killing innocent animals, destroying our home Earth, and killing one another. In fact, men are killing God Himself!

(PEOPLE PLEASE STOP KILLING ANIMALS!STOP EATING MEAT!STOP WEARING FUR/LEATHER!ThankyouAdemar

  • The puzzling thing is that Starman's vegetarian ideals didn't seem to bother him just a couple of minutes earlier in the movie when he watched Karen Allen eat a burger. Why didn't he try to bring the burger back to life?

  • It's assumed he didn't realize what they were eating. He didn't ask what apples were, nor did he ask what the burger was. We are led to believe that his body had Earth memories, when in fact, you can clone the body but not memories because memories are acquired experiences.

  • thta queer who walks over kills the scene

  • thank you so much for one of the greatest moments in the movie history!

    People look and learn!

  • Jerk.

  • y not just delete his opinion

  • Did I delete your oponion? Please put it back if I did...

  • *sigh* Such a heartless neanderthal...

  • He DOES bring a person back to life in this movie!!!

  • Well I guess that's just your opinion ....I have no prob with that.

  • Who are you to decide whats gay and not? I would like you to define the word "gay" for me, as I think you don't even understand the words meaning.

  • Next time you say "I think this scene is gay", I don't accept it when you say "It is gay..." Who are you to decide what's gay!? You have no power to do that, and I think you are disgracing my uploaded clip here by saying so, I do not accept assaultings, either on my, or my fellow creatures, get tha fuck out of here!

  • Oh come on, mutha. You should really talk. Everyone knows you're a huge fan of Barbara Streisand. Talk about gay. Jeez.

  • @Cinder90 I'm not gay by far but this scene since the first time I saw it in 85 always brings me to tears!!!

  • @lane9912 You know, you really don't need to say you're not gay. You're on the internet; who's going to know, and why does it matter?

  • @muthanuka2

    idiot

  • @jackiescanlon hey go eat a dick!

  • But he is bringing a person, a dead human, a fallen soul back to life in this movie, go and see the movie before you talk maybe.

  • you talk too much! nobody cares if you don't like the movie or if you are gay, you are unconfortable and because of that you think this scene is gay. Go eat a dick and shut the fuck up!

  • @muthanuka2 I think--it's been a while since seeing this--he does do what you suggest; the deer was (a writer's hook preceding) what he's capable of doing later.

  • People, Starman is a character that I can compare with Jesus in many ways, and John coffey from The Green Mile is one too because them both can heal things like Jesus could (accourding to the bible), Starman and John can create miricals an they are both filled with peace just like Jesus are. Both are hunted by someone like Jesus. I mean, John is kind of hunted because they have decided him to die later and the government is hunting Starman, Jesus were hated and hunted by the priests.

  • Cool part of the movie without question. The entire movie is so original and it has a superb soundtrack. I've watched this movie countless times throughout my life and I am somewhat more or less and avid sci-fi film connoisseur. Cinder90 what is your all-time favorite sci-fi movie? Starman came in peace but so did an alien in "I Come In Peace." Starman has such appeal to it though. It has always been very touching for me. This is what films should be like - the 80's = unparalleled great times!!

  • 1983-1984 was a time when everyone was rich with cultural and social capital

  • What???

  • WHAT? DrDURKEN describes himself!

  • gives me the goosebumps every time, and i'm a dude!

  • Wonderful scene.

  • nice movie.

  • Take that you hunting bastards!

  • Thats what I think man ^^ Thats right.

  • I've said this before but I'm a believer in aliens and it's my dream to one day hopefully come into contact with one.

This film has really made me curious as to what's really outside of our solar system. I'd like to believe that maybe that there are aliens like Starman out there in space, you know? Either way this scene always moves me emotionally as it's truly beautiful and sincere.

  • Delpoz10 good on you for trying to get that message across, your absolutely right, im vegetarian also, and believe we should not consume animals for food, or abuse them for human benefit, good on you once again

  • So who played the deer?!

  • No one knows? Thats not documented? Go and ask John carpenter himself instead, if you want to know that...

  • this scene was great i love the whole movie :)

  • I agree!! I loved this film too!! They don't make films like this anymore, sadly sadly enough. :(

The '80s films were so cool!

And to the person who posted this clip: THANK YOU!! I ahd been so hoping someone would post it up here! Its one of my all-time favorite film scenes EVER!!!!

  • That was beautiful that scene brings me to tears everytime i see it.

  • Great, great scene! I love the part after too. "Hey wheres my deer?"

"It went there, *points* to the woods."

    LOL

  • If only people would listen to your message!

I do like the film and sort of like the clip although I don't really agree with animals being trained for films, especially wild animals. I'm a vegan, are you?

  • why is it a cow! thats bad.

  • great film john carpenter was really good till he signed for twentieth century fox .

  • John carpenter greatest movie.

  • I wonder what she looks like now days ?

  • A brilliant film.A very powerful scene and a fantastic score.Cheers mate!

  • Thank you so much for posting this beautiful scene. I watched the video of it a couple of weeks ago but never tire of this. Nice to see a happy ending for a change.

  • I too enjoyed this movie. I was 7 when i first seen it. It should definitely be put in theaters

since Sci-fi seems popular these days. Another

great and powerful movie similar to this is called Powder you really should see it. The theres Bi-centennial man. All these are good movies to have on a video Ipod. And i'm not advertising. PEACE

  • I love this film. I aint seen it for donkeys, they hardly ever play it on tv, and I can't seem to get it on dvd! :(

  • This is such an emotionally beautiful scene and the final scene where he says goodbye, always puts me to tears. Jeff Bridges (in the final scene) when he waves goodbye reminds me of my father with his plad shirt and the sleaves rolled up. I'll always cherish 1984's "Starman!" Thanx 4 posting this friend.

  • you have done an awesome job man! Great!

  • She was going to leave him at the restaurant but changed her mind after she saw him revive the deer. One of my all time favorite movie scenes. Thanks for posting.
