  • Spoken like a true HATER!!! Technics and God had a contract with each other fulfilled when this man was born!

Baddest brotha to EVER touch the one's and two's!

  • @onthehush40 true but will smith made him corny

  • @insanebeatjunkie Will Smith didnt make him corny... i dont know when people started hating on Will Smith but he was a nice emcee back in the day... and they were a perfect combination.

  • @bigboi71 jazzy Jeff is a legend i just wanted to see ppl defend him with any new style you have to take a chance you never know whats the outcome you fucking sheeps

  • @insanebeatjunkie I never said anything bad about Jazzy Jeff... in fact he's one of the reasons i wanted to start djing in the late 80s early 90s...and btw im sick of seeing people like you call people out just bcause u think they dont agree with your line of thinking... whose the damn sheep? Everyone on this earth is entitled to his/ her own opinion and just bcause you think a certain way and someone else thinks another way doesnt necessarily make you right... it makes your opinion just that..

  • @insanebeatjunkie Will Smith didnt make him corny... i dont know when people started hating on Will Smith but he was a nice emcee back in the day... and they were a perfect combination.

  • this guy is a true legend. he his so humble. I rate him as the best DJ ever!!

  • @brunton82....I hear dat....he invented most of the scratches anywayz !!!...LEGEND !

  • he is the Dj's DJ, you know, he's the guy we dj's want to listen to. Mad Respect.

  • @djisfan WORD!!!

  • I loved jazzy jeff when he was on fresh prince

  • Jazzy Jeff is the man that people looked by when lesser dj's started doing things that he could do in his sleep. I have been a dj for over 25 years and Jeff still gives a breath taking show. In the early days I actually wanted to battle Jeff because I was the best in my neck of the woods but I had no idea he was so sharp. His set was so complete and so flawless back then that I changed my mind quick about battling a turntable beast like Jeff. He is still a monster! real talk!!

  • @jimmy67luv This man is just so complete as One like you who was good in his neck of the way Him DJ Cool hut and Cash money.. turned me on to cutting the Art of rocking a set..and flowing the jazz and the hiphop and just..everything into a true set... he's by far one of the true Insparations to the world of the ones and 2's

  • Musical Genius

  • The Baddest Dude Ever!! I remember him before he blew up in Philly back in '84. Central High School. He's still the truth!

  • DOPENESS...MUCH RESPECT TO JAZZ

  • Love This Guy

  • Jeff and Will need to get together and make an album. Something with that old school feel to it, because Will's solo stuff blows ass.

  • word me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's the best, before it was called turntablism

  • I want to steal his skills!!!!!!! Love Jeff, I wish my scratching could even get close... Ho HUM!!!

  • lol he did act! why did he say he didnt? Maybe he meant more acting.

  • jeff jeff yo

  • i lwant to go to philly! The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Cheesestreaks =] Come to seattle Dj jazzy jeff!

  • Jeff made chirps popular

  • and transformin

  • Well first off let me say thank youto everyone that commented on a positive note bcuz usually comments on youtube are harsh&racist but these comments made me proud to see that love and appreciate my close friend...WEST PHILLY STAND UP!!!

  • Best DJ ever. Some very rhythmic scratches unlike most Djs today that use one boring technique. I can tell Jeff's scratches a mile off as he has his OWN sound.

  • This is the DJ that made me want to scratch and mix. Jazzy Jeff is a living legend

  • @skoobdaer Same

  • @skoobdaer He's one of the greatest mixers in hip hop history!

  • jazzy jeff was the first to transform..... dumbasses

  • He was not the first to transform. But he his the one that made it famous.

  • nah dj spinbad was the 1st to transform. jeff said it himself

  • jeff is a mutha f-ing legend

  • chirp!!

  • wickey, wickey wickey, goes the turn-table!

  • And I thout it was GrandmasterFlash who invented the Flashformer which was the 1st transformer scratch......maybe not,,,huh????????

  • Jeff's a fuckin legend!!!

    And the album is dope!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • TONEY B FUNK FACTORY

  • Dude with the funny name.... Jazzy Jeff was NOT the inventor of the Transformer scratch. The real inventor's name is Spinbad. Jazzy & DJ Ca$h Money perfected it. Speaking as a friend of all the aforementioned, I can tell you that they ALL will tell you the same thing! TRUST ME!!!!!!

  • Spinbad just faded in and out with the levels. He didn't use the crossfader at all. It wasn't even to the rhythm. And that's from Jeff's own mouth. If you want to give credit to Spinbad, rock out. But the crossfading rhythm is what transformer scratching is.

  • There are 2 Spinbads. One is from New York, the other is from Philly. (The original one). What I posted last week was also out of Jeff's own mouth. Either way, Jeff, CA$H, Spinbad, Cosmic Kev..... ALL of them are true masters of the art!!! I'm gonna call Spinbad and Jeff and let them see these posts!

  • sinbad himself said jeff was the 1st to transform

  • OK. If you say so. Tell you what, get the movie "scratch" and look at Jeff's interview.

  • "let somebody else play my records, let me play everybody else's"

    -jeff townes

  • 1. Its so difficult to take him seriously when he is talking after Fresh Prince of Bel Air where he was SOOO funny!!

    2. Does anyone know him and Will broke up?

  • they didn't break up. Will just went to Hollywood and Jeff didn't want to. Jeff's been doing stuff with Will the whole time.

  • WTF! You can't be serious! OK... In "REAL" Hip Hop circles.

1- Jeff is rumored to be the Inventor of Transorm Scratching (that should be enough)

2- He's internationally accepted as one of the top Hip Hop DJs (end of story)

3- The tracks should speak for themselves

Big Daddy Kane, Jean Grae, Method Man and CL Smooth were ALL on the album! Shit!

It doesn't get anymore Hip Hop than that...

Fuck. I guess next you are going to tell me that Rick Ross, Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne are all. Hip Hop.

  • MtXjsdfkjbahbj or whatever your name is:

I hope you are not insulting me with your words, but if you are, then learn how to read moron because I said nothing negative about Jazzy just that he was really funny in Fresh Prince. Thank you for the information about what he has done in his life. I like him as well..

  • Name calling? I won't go there. You mean 'that kind' of take him serious.

In real life, he's all these things I am saying that he is. His ability as a DJ is on par with the best in the World and he is universally respected in true Hip Hop as such.

I just like to give credit where credit is due, that's all.

The big problem in 'Popular American Music' is that so many people get accolades for doing sub par material. That goes for Hip Hop or just about any other genre you can think of.

    One

  • "It smells like.. Cheap Cologne and fried chicken."

-Uncle Phil, Fresh Prince of Bel-air to Jazz

    xD

  • Wow he wanted to recreate his mom's basement. Thats kind of a tight idea. I hope it helped him make a tight CD.

  • i remember when they were cuttin it up in ny. talkin about some damn fresh prince of bel air...wow

  • He's awesoem! I remember when he was on the Fresh Price of Bel-Aire

  • He's so humble he hates playing his own music. True down-to-earth man.

  • he's not humble. it's just when he hears his music, he's afraid he will hear something that needs to be improved. So if he would listen to his songs the whole time, the album would never be finished.

  • Jeff has never received the credit he deserved, even during his Fresh Prince days. Unlike other turntablists, Jeff is a musicican on the tables. Smooth and nevre out of control. True poineer and one of the greats.

  • YO Jazz is the truth. Philly represent. Ran into that brother in the market in delaware and at the apple store. The brother took time to talk to me.

  • Jazzy Jeff much respect sir!!

  • Jazzy is tight on his cuts and blends. I've seen a lot of DJ's and Jazzy rocked the party better then any other. He never messed up and was just amazing.

  • Its incredible to me how tight he is. And smooth, looks like he is barely even trying. Sickest DJ I have seen, by far...

  • I remember back in 1991 at Shoreline Amphitheater RUN DMC concert. My buddy asked Will Smith for an Autograph and his bouncer took my friends pen and threw it into the crowd.

Jazzy stepped up from behind and signed my friends sheet.

    Always a heart gold Jazzy.

    PEACE!

  • jeff and will did a concert in my hometown, and it was at this concert that i learned how to transform. i had a good view of jeff cuttin' it up, and being a dj myself i had most of the bases covered when it comes to technique. i watched jeff transform rock the bells one time and it was on. djbigsmooth was born.

  • there are a a few vids of him playing commercial stuff

  • Jazzy can mix anything...

I would love him to remix some more billie jean....

  • who the man?!......

    .....JAZZ the man ;)

  • Jeff is the best DJ by a long stretch - creative, knowledgeable and most importantly always on point! He likes every single type of music and doesn't overlook a single beat or track!

  • True, Jazz Is NEVER Off Beat & Never Makes A Mistake. PHILLY "2WonPound" (215)

  • Jeff is the man.

  • jeff b dat real OG

  • LEGEND

  • Remember when he used to cut up 2 copies of Roland Rats Rat Rapping only joking it was more like the incredible bongo bands apache yeah boyeee!

  • this is what im talking bout!

  • One of the best DJs out there and an overall good person -

  • Man, is there anyone cooler than Jazzy Jeff?

  • GOooooooooooooooooooo! Jazzy Jeff is the essence of what djing in hip hop culture is. He has never changed since day one!

  • Dope, cant wait for the album

  • yeah.. dope epk.. thx jeff! lets spread the word

  • you tell em jeff!
