@blink182foo People act like it's a far-fetched thing to think that he could've actually done it. He claimed to want to die because of several things. And being a severe drug addict would've given him even more ability to do it, as he wasn't in a clear state of mind. I've read everything there is to read on the man, and universally, he wanted to die and would've found any reason to do it. McCready has had his troubles with drug and alcohol addiction as well. It's hard to say what was going on inside that man to kill himself.

That quote is from a Rolling Stone interview that he did in October or November of 1993, after a show that Nirvana did in Chicago, early on the American leg of the In Utero tour. It was published January 1993. Maybe Kurt meant what he said at the time, or maybe he was just trying to combat the negative perceptive of him in the press? By Feb '94 he was miserable.

As sad as it might be I think that he did commit suicide..especially after watching the Nirvana documentary! He was really sad and feeling so much pain. He talked about suicide, he tried to commit suicide at least once, and then a month after that 1st incident it happened!! Truely f***ed up that it had to happen like that, or at all for that matter!

To me, it seems like during the spring of '94, Cobain's marriage and career were unraveling at the seams. Throw heroin addiction on top of all that. I'm really only speculating though. I guess that's all any of us can do. That, or just accept that he's gone and continue to enjoy the music.

In it, he clearly and concisely states that "Kurt Cobain committed suicide", dismisses the murder theory as rumor and speculation, and sums everything up in the end by saying "Don't do heroin". He is clearly testifying to his feeling that heroin was a major factor in Kurt's downfall. If Krist thought Kurt were clean he wouldn't make that statement.

@blink182foo People act like it's a far-fetched thing to think that he could've actually done it. He claimed to want to die because of several things. And being a severe drug addict would've given him even more ability to do it, as he wasn't in a clear state of mind. I've read everything there is to read on the man, and universally, he wanted to die and would've found any reason to do it. And given that he had a slew of problems from drug abuse to too much media exposure, it's not impossible.

That stomach ailment of his does have a name. It is called Crohn's Disease. It is an autoimmune disorder in which the entire gastrointestinal system is seen as an illness and attacked leading to ulcers, diarrhea, vomiting, and weight loss. Heroin was an interesting choice for Cobain on the medication part. It takes the pain away. I have Crohn's Disease and recieve an IV every 8 weeks that weakens my immune system.

I don't know if in fact he had Crohn's but if he went to the right gastroenterologist, it could of helped. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam has had Crohn's since age 21, He made it through. McCready has had his troubles with drug and alcohol addiction as well. It's hard to say what was going on inside that man to kill himself.

Kurt was talking about how despondent he became about a painful stomach condition. He used heroin to deal with it. In the rest of the interview he said he was finally diagnosed and was using a non opiate to deal with the condition. Not including that information conveys the wrong impression. Kurt was NOT suicidal at the time of his death!

He was talking about a stomach condition and he later got medication for that. He even said that later in this interveiw (not shown, why's that?). Shortly before his death: "I'm happier than I've ever been" because he could actually eat an entire pizza without becoming sick.

That quote is from a Rolling Stone interview that he did in October or November of 1993, after a show that Nirvana did in Chicago, early on the American leg of the In Utero tour. It was published January 1993. Maybe Kurt meant what he said at the time, or maybe he was just trying to combat the negative perceptive of him in the press? By Feb '94 he was miserable.

It gave them a strong forensic reason to believe that Kurt was tightly clutching the shotgun against his chest at the moment he died..

@gapicek There could have been many factors leading to Kurt wanting to kill himself, ya know? We'll never know for sure what he was thinking or feeling. To me, it seems like during the spring of '94, Cobain's marriage and career were unraveling at the seams. Throw heroin addiction on top of all that. I'm really only speculating though. I guess that's all any of us can do. That, or just accept that he's gone and continue to enjoy the music.

There's a videotape of Novoselic talking on a radio show about Kurt and the "murder" rumors here on YouTube called Krist Novoselic on the FOX Part 1. In it, he clearly and concisely states that "Kurt Cobain committed suicide", dismisses the murder theory as rumor and speculation, and sums everything up in the end by saying "Don't do heroin". He is clearly testifying to his feeling that heroin was a major factor in Kurt's downfall. If Krist thought Kurt were clean he wouldn't make that statement.

@TestMeatDollSteak Krist and Jack Endino were interviewed for Sandford's book and both went nuts when it was released because there were lies and misquotings in the book. Krist has never said a word about Cross misquoting him or making up stories.

Anyone whose watched that Foo Fighters bio on vh1 this weekend knows that Dave commented about Kurt's o.d. in rome. Dave mentions how he talked to Kurt on the phone and Kurt admitted to taking to many pills by accident.another souruce proving u wrong.

@judyleasugar97 kurt was trying and taking lots of medication for his stomach but that proves nothing. Just cause he was on medication that doesnt mean it worked and that he stopped taking drugs. You are jumping to conclusions to fit your paranoid world of conspricay theories. Kurt tried taking numerous pills and saw numerous doctors for his stomach condition but that didnt mean he was cured and fixed it.

Fact, the " the toxicity level" used to say that Kurt had a lethal amount of heroin in his blood and couldnt operate a gun with the high amounts of heroin are misleading. Fact, heroin addicts build tolerance and those levels that Judy uses as proof dont take into consideration the addicts tolerance into consideration. There are videos of junkies functioning normally with higer heroin levels than kurt had.

Frist there most def is a ceiling for heroin tolerance but that level is subjective depending on the junkies habbit, the quality of the drugs they are taking, and the amount of time they were using the drug. I am a drug couselor and got my bachelors in science for drug addiction at yale university. Just recently England has done studies with addicts who functioned on higher levels of dope than yer number

ALso talk to any person working with heroin addiction. They will tell you first, that Kurt would never have been excepted in excodus if we wasnt on drugs. They will also tell you that heroin levels differ depending on a persons tolerance and the purity of the drugs they are using.
