@SegaUnited I dont how to place it but youre so right! They gave me a few night meres as a kid but i didnt know why. Something about them is messed up probs part of the reason we love em lol
Castlevania Legacy of Darkness had something that no other Castlevania game had (besides 64): Carrie Fernandez. Sure Rondo of Blood had the unstoppable powerhouse Maria Renard, but she used animals instead of light.
dunno, the 3 versions are awesome, prob my fav is the legacy of darkness version.. since LoD is also one of my favs game of the series. but the remix done for circle of the moon was quite a masterpiece ... probably th ebest remix of the game.. is interesting how it sound like an completly different song :O
The Circle of the Moon version is kind of... ick, if I'm honest. Totally destroys the atmosphere of awesome that the Bloodlines version had. The Legacy of Darkness version is pretty nice, though.
CotM is actually very relaxing... I like it the most, probably cuz i love games that are action packed but still manage to keep your blood pressure under check hahaha
Interestingly, the original genesis one seems to be the best.
The updated N64 version, although better sound quality, missed alot of notes and it felt like it was just hanging at times.
The GBA version was probably the worst of the three, with some poor timing and odd gaps.
Overall, bloodlines' version was just more fluid and fitting with an appropriate pace. The other two have too many minor, irritating issues with timing and pace.
Bloodlines was my first Castlevania (and I've been playing it since I was two years old), and it was a pleasant surprise in CoTM. But just recently when I picked up LoD, and I heard it's version of the song in the art tower, I almost cried because of how great the 64 version sounded.
@alansixx The Nintendo 64 versions did get a lot of negative reviews, but weren't really terrible games; they just looked choppy at times and the mechanics of jumping/camera weren't great. However, the soundtrack was absolutely gorgeous (both titles) and fit the stages perfectly.
@jimbostube2 but im not talking about what the people in the internet say i mean i asked my friends if they liked castlevania 64 or its addon and they say that they both suck its a rip of of torok i know i know that is one of the stupidest things you have probably heared but yea thats what every one says
CoTM was my first Castlevania (Well, my cousin got Belmont's Revenge, but we never played that much, it was too difficult for us. By chance, we almost immediately guessed the password to lead us straight up to Dracula, but we couldn't beat him). So this is where I know this Song from. When I played Bloodlines (New Generation around here), I immediately recognized this song, and I was very pleased to find it in Legacy of Darkness, too. This Song is always great. So peaceful and fantastic.
idk why but i like the cotm virsion better idk why it has some sort of memory i will never forget man thank u for posting this vid up man ahh good f@#king memories
I played CotM so much and I failed to recognize this tune even tho Bloodlines is one of my favorites in the series it sounds very different and the Genesis version is by far the best with CotM being last
@theblocksays Circle has zero variety. You had to listen to each tune about forty times by the time you had beaten the game. I can't stand COTM because of that.
@666Winterdemon666 I feel "The Sinking Old Sanctuary" is a song best on consoles, it sounds better on consoles than handhelds in my view. and the N64 is the best sounding midi version. if it was orchestrated, it'd sound even better.
I liked the quiet mellow feel of the N64 version, the GBA version wasnt that good, but the Sega Genesis version was pretty sweet. overall though, I think it sounded better on N64, considering everything. still, regardless it's a pretty sweet song.
I prefer bloodlines but I can honestly say that I like every castlevania song. they offer alot of variety, from darker tunes that set the mood for boss battles to majestic melodies that capture the mystic and magic of the world of castlevania... simply amazing
Soon I will release some other compilations like this one. may be about Super Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy or other games! I hope that you will watch and enjoy them too ;)
They're all good. It's a good piece. The one from LoD was by far the most atmospheric and has the best pacing (the entire game itself had an amazing gloomy atmosphere). Can't say much about Bloodlines, since I never played it, and I just think that the one from CoTM is catchy, like gnahzdivad said.

This is a song that takes patience to appreciate - especially the mildly eccentric Genesis version. It dabbles between catchy, flowing, heroic...quite a mixture!
The Genesis version loops quite forcefully and unnaturally, which the LoD version fixes by recapitulating the theme before it loops, though discarding much of its animated charm. CotM does the opposite to LoD and focuses more on its semi-hidden bass rhythm and manages to shape out a creative arrangement based on it.
