The best way to cut the cost of animation in the 1960's,keep the cell count down to as low as possible, and especially when it was Marvel Super Heroes, just use the pages directly from the the comic books, and reuse as many of them where needed. Don Heck,Jack Kirby, and Larry Lieber artwork was used in the Thor cartoons.
Aaawh, just saw new Mighty Thor Movie tonight. If you love old Marvel Comic Books made into movies, see this asap. My adult/childhood movie fantasies have been satisfied! Can't wait 2 take g.daughter 2 see it!
@Steve17010 If I remember right, the original enchantment was,” Who so ever hold's this hammer, if they be worthy, shall possess the power of the Thunder God." Kind of like Excalibur, it could not be used for evil.
es increible volver a ver estas series animadas, retrosedi unos 25 años,me da gusto volver a verlas, tengo muchos recuerdos de mi niñez con estas series.
Is that background at 0:57 like a TV screen? Sandu can project illusions at 1:11. Sandu probably convinces Thor that he cannot lift the building using his mental powers as Thor could easily lift it easier then a paper box. Wish I had that belt to double my strength. I think Valkyries look more like warriors, like in later Marvel comics. The hammer looks long or Sandu is a dwarf. Beta Ray Bill, Captain America, and Wonder Woman can lift Mjolnir. At 6:11 back behind the tree. 6:44 Isle of Silence?

any fan of silver age marvel can appreciate these toons. though the animation be crude at best, the plots, storylines, music, character voices and sound effects are perfect for its time! by the bristling beard of odin, these toons are forever timeless!
I understand that the animation was deliberately limited motion. In an interview with Stan Lee (included on a DVD release of one of the TV Hulk movies), Lee said that they were trying to make the TV cartoons "as close as possible" to the Jack Kirby drawings.
Both Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who wrote Thor for quite a while were both jewish as was a great many people at both Marvel and DC comics.Loki was actually Thors stepbrother in the comics. A lot of cartoon characters in those days had what we would consider silly voices.
The belt gave Thor twice his poser, Odin took it away when Thor met Hercules, it was a great comic for me to read as a 9 or 10 year old! I bought these comics in the worse condition, already several years old just so I could read them, it was great artwork and storytelling! Thanks!
The movie will be out in 2010, he will first have a cameo in Iron Man 2. Some say that in the Hulk movie when he is struck by lightning it is a sign of Thor, but I don't know, that could just be hopeful wishing.
LOL. Cartoon Network wouldn't be caught dead showing a cartoon with a character that had a accent like that, especially an Indian one. He kind of reminds me of customer services reps. Great cartoons back then. Kina danive, though. But I like them.
These Thor Cartoons are better than the New Movie. Th Art work of Jack KING Kirby Rules. thanks.

seems like the Marvel writers in the 60s didn't know the difference between "teleport" and "levitate."

Seems like every time I check somebody else has lifted the hammer...now I find that:
Odin
Air-Walker (Thor #305)
Tiwaz
Beta Ray Bill
Captain America
Red Norvell (with the aid of gauntlets)....
and I still remember wonder woman lifting it, perhaps I'm wrong but don't think so!

@TheLocoUnion I seem to remember that Wonder Woman did pick up Thor's hammer in one of the Marvel vs DC crossover magazines.

Odin's spell upon the hammer only allows those deemed worthy to lift the hammer. Others have lifted it in time of need under dire circumstances.
