Reminds me of Publix shows at the Capitol for some reason -- 2 notches below the Music Hall, 1 notch below the Palace, 3 notches below the Ziegfeld, 2 notches above Minsky's. Catchy tune, nice dancing. Great fun!! Thank you!!!
Lyda Roberti was ~unfortunately~ overlooked by the proper eyes of those who ran the Hollywood of the '30s and '40s. Thank you for the posting. I remember the song from a 33LP combo of Merman - West and Roberti - 100 yrs ago.
Hi 'perfectjazz78' - You will want to seek out the short film, Hollywood Rhythm, that features Paramount song writers, Mack Gordon and Harry Revel - along with Lyda Roberti. It is basically a promo for Paramount's music department AND this film. It is available on DVD in a collection of short films. Too bad Lyda's life was cut short. She had plenty of "hot cha" with a full measure of "wicky wacky woo" thrown in!
Only just found this in your wonderful uploads-yet another one i had longed to see!The T.V in Britain used to show this sort of thing up to about 10 years ago but no longer im afraid!!
Well, hooray!
Great effects from the cheering section, especially when they turn from back to front and expose either the light or dark side of their costumes.

Lyda Roberti was really hot stuff. Soooo talented and sexy. So sad she died of heart disease at only 31.

I've been a big fan of Lyda for many years. She was really a wondeeful comedienne
and dazzled when on screen. I'm sure she would be amazed that she lives on today via YouTube!!!

The camera angles are different in the short vs the feature while she is in front of the cheerleader girls.
