I didn't know about it at the time of the 64, so I don't know the specifics. You can definately go into the area from going around the side, but I've tried hopping across when the bridge isn't there and fell to my death.
@MithranDenizen Sorry my bad it sounds like I said I did the Skedar Jump with nothing but a run but I meant I did it with the devastator first function blast at the ground launch.

Can you even do the glitch to jump the valley on the XBLA version anymore?
Because I've been trying to do it for a couple of days now and I can't make it more than halfway.

Yes you can I did it lastnight. I've been trying to duplicate it since with no luck. I'm trying right now actually.
I looked up this video after wondering if the 2nd function Dev would be better as old guides advise.
When I made the jump last night I used regular Dev blast to boost over.
People supposedly shoot a wall hugger.
