Out of every musician I know, knew, and will know, Dave Grohl is my FAVORITE musician. I saw a documentary on him once, and he was in an interview, and he was just so happy.. Like he honestly enjoyed his life as much as he could.. Damn I wish I was him :(
@ConnaghHBitch No. Dave is awesome, but his importance in the band isn't above the other members. If Dave were to kick Nate, Taylor, and Chris out, Foo Fighters wouldn't be Foo Fighters. Think modern Guns N' Roses. Everyone except Axl left the band and they're all tooled up and shitty now.

Hardly acoustic. The Unplugged idea got all screwed up. Rock ACOUSTIC means no ELECTRIC guitars. True acoustic means nothing electric on stage (except lights maybe) and no microphones. It was a great live album but it was NOT acoustic.
I have the the so called acoustic tour dvd and cd. I love Foo Fighters & really liked the cd but it is quite electric & loud. The bass was electric for sure & I believe Dave's guitars had pick ups. It really doesn't matter to argue the point because it was a cool tour for them & the idea of tour idea worked out quite well.Their music is meant exploit electricity ad volume anyway. At true acoustic shows the audience has to really behave themselves and not say a word because it would be heard

If it isn't acoustic, then it isn't acoustic. Make all the instruments acoustic and mike the vocals drums and guitars. An classical orchestra is acoustic by definition. Plenty of great acoustic basses out there. Dave is a screamer he'll be heard, Napoleon Dynamite. Why are people like you so stupid?

Even if everything you said was valid and Dave had an impossible voice; I'd willing to bet that every place he chose to play does not happen to have a symphonic hall in the area, is he and every rock acoustic act to carry that around with them too? Also, as the layperson tends to focus on low end, a string bass would be too different and detract from the show.

Everyone in the band has/had an amazing talent...Krist Novoselic, Kurt Cobain, and Dave Grohl all complemented each other very well. While I am glad that he got his "start" in Nirvana....I don't think that musically it is the best thing he did. But.....different people have different taste. Here's to you.

This is funny because I just saw a Nirvana clip where they were putting down traditional rockers for posing on Harley Davidsons and playing with orchestrated backgrounds like Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
