The movie is poor...tries way too hard to be zany and different. I had an easier time watching Things than this. That woman who's also in Dick Tracy and Mr. Holland's Opus might be the most annoying actress since Diane Keaton.
The book was awesome. The movie...not so much. That being said, there are several great performances, including Nolte and Epps. It just doesn't translate well to film.
they did a good job for the german syncronisation/ translation fairy land = Märchenland and Nick understands Mädchenland ( sounds nearly the same). THUMBS UP!

Nella versione originale in Inglese come dicono la frase che in Italiano è "finchè non morrai continua a vivere" non mi interessa la traduzione ma letteralmente quello che dicono, poi può essere anche che coincidono.
Interesting twists of truth in our modern day culture, but the final realization is purely what Jesus Siddartha and others was trying to teach,
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, stop killing lying, cheating, wars, hatred, I ME MINE, we are all one big family so embrace this treasured gift we call consciousness:) on this mother earth.
I have been a Vonnegut fan since I was a teenager, and I thought this movie did a great job sticking with the book, even though there were a couple of differences.
Actually, I don't know if I've ever seen a film adapted from a Vonnegut novel that was disappointing. Mother Night was great as well.
Wow didnt know there was a mother night movie would like to see that Vonnegut is awesome i've also been i fan of him since i was a teen this was the first book i read by him then i was hooked
I thought they did a great job. Yes they changed some things, but overall as a movie its very funny and entertaining. Nolte steals every scene, he's hilarious in it. Bruce Willis has some good moments too, especially in the first 15 minutes.
i see how it was hard to adapt this because there is so much underlying self-dialogue and spontaneous emotional behavior, the result on movie might not make much sense... but Dwayne Hoover's story is overall very interesting

This clip gave me a headache, just from the camera moving around. No wonder this got the worst reviews.

Nope. I wracked my brains, but it was never in the book. The only things Hoobler talks to is Dwayne Hoover and the Interstate.
