You can't have assimilation when 2 million are coming every year both legally and illegally, and are actively discouraged from assimilating by government entitties. The fact of the matter is we let in more immigrants (around 1 to 1.5 million a year) legally than any other country on Earth. Moreover, we're letting more in than any other time in our history. The numbers are massive and it doesn't allow for orderly assimilation. Just as important are the effects on labor markets (16% unem.) and the environment. Too put it bluntly, TOO MANY DANG PEOPLE!

Yes, there is no proper assimilation and absorption programs. Lets talk about it. Bill once ignored CNN's online post-debate poll in which tens of thousands of people voted, All so he could cite a different obscure online Poll of 54 total voters so he could say on the air that "nobody" thought Ron Paul won the debate. It's funny to see Billo complain about MSNBC, esp. since former "Countdown" host Keith Olbermann has consistently held him accountable for his words and made him eat them. Why is Bill so butthurt about MSNBC? If Fox has nothing to fear from them, esp. i nterms of ratings, why go on the offensive? Race is a social construct. I mean, back in the day, we had FAR LESS racial designations than now. At one point, we only had 2 or 3 for the ENTIRE world. And the racial categories are constantly debated among biological anthropologists. To an extent, 'race' can be good for things like forensics, but it's by no means a determinant for everything you're capable of. Plus, genetically, there's MORE variation within a race than between them.

Skin color DOESN'T MATTER! CULTURE matters. If you're raised in America, are patriotic, etc., you will not be any less 'worthy' of living here if you were born brown or white. You're not gonna automatically "contribute less" and "mooch more" simply b/c you came from Mexico or Saudi Arabia.

However, having said that, I HAVE read many of his books (esp. Death of the West), and when he starts talking about Europeans and immigration in America, he DOES seem to take a very racialist tone towards non-whites, acting like ONLY WHITES have contributed great discoveries and inventions in America, while the rest have either done nothing or mooched. He seems to have a very unhealthy affinity for the white race over others for someone who's supposedly "not racist" or supremacist in mindset.

I wouldn't 'blacklist' Buchanan as head of MSNBC just for typical far-right shit he said in a book, but his comments about immigration are just absurd. I'm not gonna say he's "racist" simply because of them, but they're so beyond the pale factually. The whole "non-whites can't assimilate" crap has been debunked SO MANY times!
