Vanilla: giant online world, strong community

TBC: same connected community and perfect raid progression

Wrath: Started slow, ulduar was god tier then went to shit near the end due to badge gear, LFG finder and over all casual retardation

Cata:start was great, heroics and raids had decent difficulty but oh wait stupid people are the majority now better nerf it. still severed community.

Basically normal people(casuals) started playing and ruined everything.

@pigeggs1 World of Warcraft has a far greater depth and storyline to Call of Duty, not to mention being a different genre of game, so it isn't fair to compare them in the first place. Admittedly, I don't know what STALKER is, but I wouldn't say that Skyrim is "better" than WoW. I think there's a lot of hatred for it because of the monthly fee and the fear of looking like a "nerd" for playing it, but playing Skyrim is "cool".

I played Elder Scrolls games back from 1997, when they were decidedly "uncool" indeed, and STALKER is one of the most obscure but awesome, FPS/RPG hybrids ever made.

I reference COD because of the flame war below, and that was not as much the point as that WOW lacks the I want to say depth and immersion, or perhaps a certain je ne sais quoi would make more sense, that Skyrim and STALKER have.

Also, the power gaming and crazy hardcore people detract from my experience a bit...
