  • LOL she is like WOW IT WORKS ahaha

  • So what exactly are "speeds?" Is it a trick or am I misunderstanding the title =/

  • hahah I smile just like that when I learn new tricks :)

  • haha, love how cheery she is =]

  • good tips but she has the dumbest smile on her face

  • I'm having trouble with the poi chords and nylon finger holders, possibly the weight too, doing stalls. Seems like there isn't enough weight. I have the fluffy poi from homeofpoi. They're great, but I'm wondering if I need added weight? Or should I have just used socks and tennis balls. Or stuck to my glowsticks?

  • you can stall with any poi no matter what weight, but it is often easier to learn with heavier poi.

  • @GixxxerKim I was having the same problem when i began practicing with plastic string and LEDs/glowsticks, When i first switched over to sock poi i used oranges, and they seemed to give me a weight that was good for me to learn on. I couldn't do anything until i switched over, so i think ideal weight should vary from person to person, I now use socks tennis balls, and even with this i feel its a little too light.

  • @Sorasa Thank you. :) I have since gotten flowlights with weighted ends. Works great. Just had to practice a bit. I realized I was better off with single loops rather than the beginner doubles I got with the fluffy poi. Kinda set me back.

  • I think that the correct move poi so they moved in a straight horizontal line, rather than a pendulum ..

    P.S. Sorry my English

  • There's no true correct and incorrect way to do it. The poi are losing momentum and changing direction, so it still is technically a stall, but I agree in the sense that a horizontal stall moving in a straight line is more technically difficult, allows for far greater control, and is more visually appealing too. And your English is pretty good, don't worry about it.

  • Thanks :)

  • No problem man, thanks for your spinning, it's awesome dude.

  • I have never seen anyone so happy doing stalls! :D

I Agree with Nathaniel. I'm currently practicing the hard kind of stalls, which are those that can go upwards or basically any direction. Takes a lot of time to get those going smoothly, especially upwards, but the basic idea is presented here of course

  • Nice tut, stalls took me a while to get the hang of, but they're a lot of fun to mix into routines when you get the hang of them :D
