"Invention in C Minor" is from Joel's "Fantasies and Delusions" album. There's a sheet music book of the same name, also by Joel.

Nothing wrong with Billy Joel's desire to return to his classical roots. But it's kind of poignant that Billy is so proud of his ability to imitate a classical composer, when he's such a genius at writing pop music. Note to Billy: you don't need to validate yourself with rewrites of past masters. You are a present day master, and millions of people (like myself) admire you ... JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.
