If jesus rose from the dead, where was the sacrifice? I've often wondered why christians find it so noble and uplifting that a person who supposedly was immortal was giving such a huge sacrifice. And did we ask for it? No. I wouldn't want someone to sacrifice himself for me so I could feel guilty for the rest of my life. And that's the crux of it, isn't it? Religion is about guilt, among other things. Its about having control over people.
Every-time I go snorkeling I wonder: if god created all of the life on earth and was supposedly a divine being, then why are humans destroying the earth? The world is ancient and primeval. Human beings were not created by a divine being, the world is too complex for any human to create.

2. Not judging.. Judging whether someone has a nice voice is different to judging a personality based on their voice. I believe the bible says that we will be judged in the way that we have judged ourselves, not that we shouldn't judge which, as you say, is impossible. You need to brush up on your Ancient Near East texts. All flood narratives (and there are hundreds) are polemic arguments for the existence and authority of certain Gods. It was never meant to be taken literally (along with Genesis 1-11). The vast majority of seminaries do not and HAVE not taught it as a literal story for a very long time.

As far as your logic with the sacrifice and resurrection and hes either dead or alive makes no sense. The body that he sacrificed was put in the tomb which was weak and earthly. The body he was resurrected in was that body changed and glorified to be eternal. Read 1 Corinthians 15.

@ryddelwearsahat , i have been praying for a little girl as only 8 years old ,has stage 4 cancer. i don,t know her but she lives over in North Carolina. See she has only about 3-4 weeks until she passes away I would be crushed . I am not God so i can,t stretch out my hand to heal her. I have a little daughter . only 16 months old and i worry about her. as i am over 50 now. I know that she has inheirt my sin and i pray that at some point she prays herself to the Lord Jesus for salvation.

Second. Jesus was not wrong. When the Bible speaks of Judge not, its speaking of Hypocritical Judgement. Jesus says, Dont speak of the dust in your brothers eye when you have a plank in your own. Its Hypocritical Judgement thats wrong.
In Genesis 3 God promised the seed of the woman would bruise satans head. Which means Christ had to be fully man. So Satan tried to pollute the bloodline by having the fallen angels produce a line which Christ couldnt come from. Thats why God sent the flood to wipe that whole line out and saved one human family.
Number 1- God destroyed the people with the flood not because they were all sinners, but because if you read Genesis 6, you would see the Angels cohabitated with women and had hybrid children,( Men of Renowned) as the scripture says. This is where Mythology originated from.

I agree with your view on judgements. The whole concept of being non-judgemental is a made up term. Whenever I come accross a person who claims to be non-judgemental I ask them if they like dogs? When they answer I ask them why because they've just made a judgement. The point is EVERY decision anyone makes is due to judgment. And did we ask for it? No. I wouldn't want someone to sacrifice himself for me so I could feel guilty for the rest of my life. And that's the crux of it, isn't it? 2. Not judging.. Judging whether someone has a nice voice is different to judging a personality based on their voice. I believe the bible says that we will be judged in the way that we have judged ourselves, not that we shouldn't judge which, as you say, is impossible. As for self judgement, surely that is massively encouraged? (eg 2 Corinth 13:5)

You need to brush up on your Ancient Near East texts. All flood narratives (and there are hundreds) are polemic arguments for the existence and authority of certain Gods. It was never meant to be taken literally (along with Genesis 1-11). The vast majority of seminaries do not and HAVE not taught it as a literal story for a very long time.

The very status of "Theory" in Science is that is demonstrates both traits repeatedly. The evidence is plentiful and even ten minutes on the internet, not even the myriad of peer-reviewed scientific articles, would indulge even Jesus himself.
Also the "Big Bang" doesn't require "something came from nothing" and is just as valid even if it couldn't.

There is a flaw in your thinking. Namely God is much much bigger that we are, so our little brains are not enough good to find out what is good /bad. Only God knows sometimes. So flood etc is one of those that our little brains cannot understand why its good. But God knows... So you have to HUMBLE YOURSELF and understand that you are only a dust and God has the REAL understanding. So christians want to live in humility this way.

He was already born God, but also fully human. Nobody's getting "the blame" for Adam's sin. The effects of Original Sin remain. Take a nail out of the wall and there's still a hole. But, the void can be filled. The effects of every sin last. Maybe, athiests should really brush up on the theology they arrogantly claim to be debunking?

The reason God flooded the damn Earth is because he was unsatisified of his creation or just plain bored. I mean right after the rain waters have receded he was satisified by the smell of animal sacrifice. That was the REASON WHY HE DIDN'T FLOOD THE EARTH AGAIN . We may ask "where's God in all this," "this" being catastrophes, etc... Well who knows how the creator of all this works but I can say that His overall agenda is to bring us all to repentance. As far as your logic with the sacrifice and resurrection and hes either dead or alive makes no sense. The body that he sacrificed was put in the tomb which was weak and earthly. The body he was resurrected in was that body changed and glorified to be eternal. Read 1 Corinthians 15.

God has chosen me since He revealed Himself to me, and yet He still gave me freedom to choose. Just as it says in the New Testament . book of Acts, some Jewish people it says refused to believe. Other words they refused God,s grace to be saved from damnation. See they choose there own desruction.

Jesus fullified all the law. and the Law is there to prove the point that we can not keep it as He did. as it is said by Him if we break any of the law we are guilty of breaking all of it. So the law is to drive us to know that we need a Redeemer, the Lord Jesus who is the only Redeemer. He died for all our sin and was dead and buried and yet was raised again to life. @ryddelwearsahat , i have been praying for a little girl as only 8 years old ,has stage 4 cancer. i don,t know her but she lives over in North Carolina. See she has only about 3-4 weeks until she passes away I would be crushed . I am not God so i can,t stretch out my hand to heal her. I have a little daughter . only 16 months old and i worry about her. as i am over 50 now. I know that she has inheirt my sin and i pray that at some point she prays herself to the Lord Jesus for salvation.

In Genesis 3 God promised the seed of the woman would bruise satans head. Which means Christ had to be fully man. I agree with your view on judgements. The whole concept of being non-judgemental is a made up term. Whenever I come accross a person who claims to be non-judgemental I ask them if they like dogs? When they answer I ask them why because they've just made a judgement. The point is EVERY decision anyone makes is due to judgment. If someone ever claims to be non-judgemental it means they aren't able to make a decision.

The Bible is a book full of stories written by man, nothing more. There are no signs or evidence at all that there is a magical entity. People believe these stories of gods because their parents and peers tell them that these books are true of every word in them. What's the point on trying to rationalize common sense with religious people when it comes to this subject? "Proud to be an american atheist" I want to say that I love humanity in spite of all its faults. a·the·ist NOUN: One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.
Most atheists like most christians dont know what the title they take for themselves even means. Most atheists aren't morons, only a moron denies the existence of a God, creator, higher power or whatever you would like to call God. Most atheists merely reject the God that is "spoonfed" to them.

Unlike most christians I have asked these questions. The answer is not an easy one nor is the answer one most christians know. The fact is... get ready to laugh at me.... there is something "magic" about the shedding of blood combined with intention, intention being a key component. I am no seminary educated theologian, I am just a "regular joe" who wanted real answers to the "tough" questions.
Not the "spoonfed" baby food answers the mainstream church provides.

saynotodarwin read the bible! i bet you do NOT agree with every single moral in there, if you do you are not a nice person as you would stone a gay person for something they do in their own private life. if you dont agree with them all then you have a seperate guide to choosing whats right and wrong that does not come from the bible and have proven yourself wrong, so will you be an evil person or admit you are wrong? they are your only two choices. First, stop the myth that babies are innocent. CHildren learn how to lie, steal and hurt each other without any adult teaching them. No one is innocent. Second you using a half arguement to make a point. Its blatantly obvious that you either simply dont understand what you're reading OR are working on the uninformed to sway them towards your way of thinking. The Genesis account was pretty clear why God chose Noah and why he cleansed the earth of the tampered strain of DNA by the fallen ones.

We didn't evolve from apes. We have a common ancestor with apes, but modern apes were NOT around when we were "evolving" from them.
