  • 499€ für ne glaskugel...

    499€ for a glass sphere...

    was wenn eine garnele stirbt?

what happens if a "garnele" dies?

  • Ecospheres are NOT self-stustaining!

Shrimps die beeing locked in these small spaces, without fresh water, without nutritions and evacuation of waste. They lack of food, shrink and die. Shrimps can live up to 20 years!!!! in their natural habit or in an ordinary (brackish water) aquarium. in ecospheres, they live mostly only 2 years! think of that.

if you don´t want to take care for your pets, don´t have any. it´s not just a desinger paperweight, those are living creatures and they have needs

  • @fredanddino1 The shrimps in these tanks are cherry shrimps (Neocaridina heteropoda) which does have a typical lifespan of 1-2 years, depending on temperature, etc. This echosphere is self-sustainable if the conditions are right (right amount of sunlight & temperature). The shrimps and algae goes through a waste > food cycle with sunlight so the shrimps do get food. With that said, however, it is much much cheaper to make your own (closed or open) than to buy one of these sphere.

  • @Douten

NO, as in 2:00 said, they need seawater! neocaridina heteropoda is a freshwater shrimp. I HAD an ecosphere myself, I got it as a birthday present. I opened it after preparing an aquarium with brackish water. I can tell you for sure, that the shrimp inside are "opae úla"(halocaridina rubra). They can live up to 20 years, not only 1-2 years. they starve in the ecopsheres. As I freed (and fed) mine, they began to grow and breed!

  • @fredanddino1 Ooh my bad I've always thought these were filled with fresh water and cherry shrimps, not brackish water shrimps. In that case, for its price and the shrimp lifespan, this is definitely deserve no support.

  • GIFTIGE FEUERQUALLEN MAN!!!!

  • Also, this music sounds like its from Finding Nemo.

  • Ooooooh! I had one of these things as a kid!

It was this little egg shaped dome that had 4-5 shrimp in it. I had it on my desk for 5+ YEARS without ever giving them food or anything, and they were fine. I really wish I had another one of those, so cool.

  • Bullshit everyone's been making these since a while ago, so these aren't remotely the first ones...

  • but the glass had a hole in the top where you could put some yoghourt or bear fur into ?????

  • does the glass ball takes air from above or is it copletely sealed?

  • @trixakias its sealed the O comes from the plant
