@swedhockey0394 Phil plays on the old Yamaha 612G With Eb tunning in on the second valve. He has a couple of them. Silverplated and goldplated and maybe some lacker? he has one in his studio, bedroom, play room, car ect.....
@brassheavy Nah. The guys at 1:29 that played the pedal C (32 hertz) in seventh position only used their F valve; the guys who played it around third to fourth used both valves. This means that using both valves, a double pedal Bb (29 hertz) in seventh is available. For a sample, go to the Vienna Symphonic Library under contrabass trombone.
The Walrus speaks ,lol.

Was the first one a pedal Db? E? I don't have an instrument of a tuner. The second looks like a pedal B.
Burgerbob22 3 years ago
E. But phil playes in Eb tunning So it looks on the slide one half step down. It went all down at the pedal C.
brassheavy 3 years ago
Aha, but no double pedals? darn. Too bad this video skipped a bunch of them anyways.

Lightheaded. Playing that low (only pedal notes) for that long takes a lot of air, and if you don't take a break, you'll likely pass out.
