The punk bands from Berkely are just jealous as fuck because Green Day gets to play to thousands of people all the time and their stuck in a stupid ass town bein loners.
Punk or not, Green Day will forever be my favorite band, and it's not just because of the music, but because Billie, Mike, and Tre are extremely great guys that have fun together and care for their families.
I guess some kids on here have been bitching about American Idiot on these videos. American Idiot is by far their most amazing album. I've been listening to them since Kerplunk, and American Idiot is still one of the best.
Punk is about the community of outsiders, if you leave the community which green day did they should of just owned up to it and said they were punk but just a band after 92. They are still pretty good for what they are either way.
punk used to be about having fun and doing what you want. the fact that the sex pistols were dicks, doesn't mean all punks have to be dicks, but for some reason everybody thought it did... so if it's ok for the sex pistols to change pnk from aving fun into being a dick, then why can't green day just change it back?

As you can see, the band wasn't just about American Idiot or 21st Century Breakdown. These guys have the best history ever. I used to listen to coutnless other hard rock classic bands and watched their documentaries.. But really, Green Day's is the most interesting and probably most unique. Simple Plan will never have a documentary as awesome as this in 10 years or even 20. They wouldn't have at least 3 parts of the documentary of Green Day - which is the underground success.

This entire thing was about how "Green Day's not punk" and how "the punks stopped liking Green Day." There is so much more to them than that. This was a half assed episode of Behind the Music.

bottom line is right timing, with grunge Nirvana kick started it.now Nirvana is gone grunge is done..and where is green day now?.so the 22 million sold was due to the 90's.i have been in radio for over 20 years own 4 of them .i seen it all,from the rise of thrash to now.i remember saying Metallica was gonna be huge and every one looking at me like i was a fool.lol its a movement and that movement is done.i get 0 request now for green day.none zilch.having said that they will always have fans
